American chef and food critic, Katie Lee, having gone through a not so happy marriage, revealed her new love and headed to a bright future with her husband.

Standing at the height of 5’7, Katie Lee is a known chef and cookbook author who hosted the first season of Bravo’s Top Chef, a reality competition television series. The series has aired 231 episodes in 15 seasons.

Katie has appeared as a guest judge many times on Beat Bobby Flay, an American cooking competition show on the Food Network, which is taped in front of a live audience. She is also an editor of her culinary column, Katie’s Kitchen that is published every week in Hamptons magazine.

Born on 14 September 1981, Katie Lee Joel was raised in Milton, West Virginia. She is of Asian-American ethnicity born to parents Kim Becker and Steve Lee.

It looks like her parents made sure that she did get a good education. The 36-year-old chef studied journalism and food science graduating from Miami University in 2003 when she was also a member of Kappa Alpha Theta. She completed a semester at The British Institute in Florence, Italy.

According to sources, Katie has got an estimated net worth of $10Million, which doesn’t come as much surprise. From her two cookbooks, she has made a lot as a chef author. Her novel, Groundswell, also brought her tons of money as it sold many copies.

Katie earned a significant amount of money from her appearance as the host of Top Chef and as a special correspondent in the television newsmagazine, Extra. Currently, Katie is making money from co-hosting the talk show of Food Network's The Kitchen and the Cooking Channel’s Beach Bites with Katie Lee.

The food critic was married to the famous rock singer-songwriter, Billy Joels. There are only a few people who don’t know about Billy Joels. He’s a renowned music artist whose song, Piano Man, gained him much fame, making him the third-best selling solo artist in the US. He, however, was a chronic alcoholic and fell for Katie after seeing her in a hotel lobby. 

Katie and Billy met at the Peninsula Hotel, and after Katie's graduation from college, they gave their relationship a shot.

The pair got married in 2004 and shared a huge age difference. During the time of their marriage, Katie was just 23 while her husband was nearly double her age, at 55.  

Their marriage started going downhills in 2008 when Billy was on tour with Elton John. Katie in that time an up and coming culinary star would be splashed across the news for her lavish partying which led to her husband Billy suspecting of an affair.

While talking about his divorce with Katie to the Pagesix, Billy talked about the limited about of trust they shared, doubting that the other had an affair going on.

He further added,

I realized it’s not going to happen. We’re over… Just don’t send me messages, don’t leave me cute little phone call, don’t tease me, just end it. ‘Cause I’m an old man now, a vulnerable man. Don’t do that to an old guy.

It may not have been a good relationship with Billy for Katie, but she has found her new love again.

Meet Katie's Newly Engaged Boyfriend, Ryan Biegel

Now, after seven years of staying out of romantic affairs, Katie got engaged to her producer boyfriend, Ryan Biegel, who produced Top Chef. Ryan Biegel is an actor and producer known through movies like Shallow Hal, Stuck on You among many others.

Katie first revealed her dating status with Ryan Biegel in May 2017 on Instagram as she posted a picture of Ryan and her dog. Since revelation about her boyfriend, Katie shared glimpses of her romantic life with Ryan including the vacation the pair spent in Paris.

It was in March 2018, the couple was finally engaged after Ryan got down on one knee after a year of their smooth sailing relationship.

Katie and her husband, Ryan both stood to embrace each other in an intimate posture in the picture while Katie wore a back-revealing wedding gown that swept the floor and Ryan rocked a navy blue suit that suited his brown loafers. 

The two promised eternity to each other at an outdoor ceremony with the ocean as the backdrop.

The wedding took place in Italy and the couple is also intending to spend their honeymoon there. Katie hasn't revealed the exact day she heard the wedding bells ring but she did share another picture on Instagram with her husband after the wedding picture as they ate the pasta of Italy.Â
