American actor Jay Ellis is famous among his fanbase which consists majority of black girls but he believes that love blooms deeper than a person's racial difference and sets an example that there is unity in diversity.

Jay was born as Wendell Ramone Ellis Jr. on 27 December 1981 in a military family. He is the only son of father Wendell Ellis Sr. who used to work in Air Force. His mother, Paula served as a finance executive. 

He attended 12 schools in 13 years before attending  Concordia University in Portland, Oregon on a football scholarship and also served as the university's student body president.

He was a bright kid since childhood and also worked as a public relations intern for the Portland Trail Blazers. But his heart was in modeling so after the internship he started his career as a model. He worked with Portland-based sportswear companies like Nike, Adidas, and Columbia Sportswear. 

After internship and modeling, Ellis still had some aims to fulfill that's why he moved to L.A. in 2004 in order to pursue his acting career. He launched his professional venture in 2005, appearing in the uncredited role of a soldier in a science fiction series, Invasion. Later on, he also got an opportunity to appear in popular series like How I Met Your Mother, Grey's Anatomy and NCIS.

Jay Ellis likes to keep things secret when it comes to details about his love life. Although he doesn't share much information, he doesn't shy away from showing off his girlfriend on the media. Jay is dating gorgeous Serbian model and actress, Nina Senicar. 

But dating Nina who is a white girl was posed as a threat to his career as he belonged to a black community and most of his fans were black girls. Talking about his covert natured relationship on the show, The Breakfast Club in February 2017, he was asked if he is afraid of facing backlash for the relationship because of the predominately black female fan following.

He replied that he was in a happy relationship and did not worry about anything else as they gave so much of themselves. 

“I am in a relationship. I’m in a very happy relationship and that’s where I leave it. I don’t really worry about anything else and that’s it. I think for me, we give so much of ourselves in what we do no matter what side of the industry we’re on so for me…a relationship for me is probably the most important thing that I think two people can have.
