British comedian Jimmy Carr has become a dad for the first time. The stand-up star recently revealed that he has a son with partner Karoline Copping. By doing so, Carr has ended long-running speculation regarding his fatherhood. 

Jimmy Carr's Career

Carr is a British actor, comedian, and television presenter known for his dark humor and comedic timings. He began his career in comedy in 2000 with the British television network Channel 4. 

Since then, the comic has had popular panel shows like 8 Out of 10 Cats, 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown, The Big Fat Quiz of the Year, and I Can See Your Voice under his belt.

The 48-year-old was previously working in the marketing department of an oil company. However, his passion for pursuing a career in stand-up made him quit his job.

Apart from panel shows, Carr has hosted game shows like Distraction and Your Face or Mine? for Channel 4.

Due to his affiliation with the channel, he was further seen hosting shows like 100 Worst Britons, 100 Greatest Cartoon Characters, 100 Worst Pop Records, 100 People Who Look Most Like Jimmy Carr (a spoof), and 100 Scary Moments. 

In 2018, Carr was the presenter of the American comedy show The Fix for Netflix. In addition, he's been recently titled as the funniest British comedian by OnBuy.

Who is His Girlfriend Karoline Copping?

Copping, age 46, is a commissioning editor at Channel 5 and a long-time girlfriend of Carr. Having met the stand-up performer at an auction, she has been in a relationship with him for 20 years.

However, Copping isn't Carr's wife, as the couple is yet to tie their knot. They currently live in North London in an £8.5 million mansion.

Does He Have kids? 

According to Daily Mail, the pair have always remained tight-lipped regarding their parenthood. However, after denying the rumors of having kids on numerous occasions, the actor-comedian has finally confessed that he is a dad to a son. 

As per speculations, Carr has been experiencing fatherhood for two years. Before his final admittance a few days ago, Carr was spotted walking a pram near his house last year. 

In his opening act, while performing at The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Carr joked about not having any kids, as he said, "I don't have kids, but if I had them, I would have them adopted." 

When did Carr Reveal Being a Father?  

The celebrated comedian made the revelation during his stand-up gig at the O2 Academy Brixton in London a few days ago.

Even though he did not straightforwardly disclose the news, he is believed to have said enough. As per The Sun, Carr was quoted saying:  

'I had to tell my little boy he's adopted. I mean, he isn't, but the look on his face. I said, "No, no, no, you were adopted. The new family is picking you up tomorrow. We're having a gender-reveal party for our kid, but we're going to wait until he's 21 just to be sure. 

To add to the context, Carr was once again spotted with a buggy a week ago, nearby his mansion.
