Canadian actor Devon Sawa has worked in several movies and TV shows over the years. His performances have even helped him win various awards and nominations.

But there was something special about his supporting role as Scott Wormer in the 1995 coming-of-age comedy-drama film, Now and Then.

"If you were alive in 1995 and somewhere between the ages of 7 and 17, it's likely that Devon Sawa's tush in Now and Then was either wholly responsible for, or at least contributed to, your sexual awakening," Rachel Handler from Vulture described Sawa's role in that movie.

The 43-year-old played one of the Wormer brothers who initially bullied the girls but later reformed and shared a kiss with the lead female character, Roberta Martin, played by actresses Christina Ricci and Rosie O'Donnell.

Devon Sawa's Audition for 'Now and Then'

While speaking with Vulture's Handler in 2019, Sawa talked about the classic film and stated he felt like he had auditioned for his role just yesterday.

He then remembered sitting at his childhood home in British Columbia, Canada, when a close friend came over and helped him record a tape in his family room.

He reportedly waited for more than a week to hear from the casting team. In the end, he learned he got the part in the film.

Meanwhile, the actor was also aware that he was recommended for the role by his co-star Ricci.

When asked why she recommended him to the creators, he answered the two had previously spent a week together doing school for Casper.

"And we clicked and got along and she recommended me. You'd have to ask her why, but it was a very sweet thing to do," he added.

Devon Sawa Talks about Filming

Now, when Sawa looks back at Now and Then's filming, he feels like it was some sort of summer camp.

The cast and crew reportedly lived together in the same hotel in Savannah, Georgia; hence, they often hung out and tried to stay out as late as they could.

During the conversation, Sawa even recalled watching Pulp Fiction four or five times in the theater, which was a couple of blocks away from the hotel, with the team of Now and Then.

Those were off-screen moments, and the actor apparently had a blast.

However, he had a difficult time filming a few scenes, including the nude scene along with the other three male co-stars.

"It was so overly protective that that's what made it kind of weird. If we'd just done it, it wouldn't have been so weird," he talked about the situation.

What Is Devon Sawa Doing Now?

The Final Destination star is still actively working in the entertainment industry with several releases in recent years.

In 2021 only, he starred as Robbie Nelson in the television series Magnum P.I., Logan Wheeler/Lucas Wheeler in the horror show Chucky, and Ken in the horror-comedy Black Friday.

Besides, he is married to his longtime wife, Canadian producer Dawni Sahanovitch, and has two children.
