Chris Sowers is a meteorologist who has been with the 6 ABC’s Action News as the weekend morning meteorologist since May 2011.

Interestingly, he had started his career as a weather producer for the same network in October 2000. But he left his service there in 2005 and headed towards Bowing, Kentucky, where he served as Chief Meteorologist for WNKY.

Moreover, Sowers stands tall at the height of 5 feet 6 inches. He is a graduate from the Kean University in Union, New Jersey, with a degree in Meteorology.

News of His Brother’s Death

In a shocking turn of events on January 6, 2010, news began circulating regarding Sowers’s brother being killed in a shooting.

However, it was later revealed that it was not meteorologist Chris Sowers whose brother had been shot but rather a different person sharing the same name.

A tragedy regardless of the fact that the two shared a similar name. The shooter was later arrested and charged for his hideous crime.

Had Hernia Surgery

The meteorologist was diagnosed with Hernia in 2018, due to which he had to go through surgery.

He had successful surgery on June 6, 2018, and he took to his social media to update the news. On Twitter, he shared a picture from his hospital bed while writing, “Surgery today was a success! Very sore and sleepy, but doing good.”

Similarly, Sowers also posted a picture on Facebook, where he stated that his surgery was successful and added that his dog Murphy stayed by his side the entire time.

I feel good so far and medium size Murphy has stayed by my side the entire time. Apparently, as I was in recovery, I invited the entire nursing and doctor staff over for a pool party. Got to love anesthesia. lol.
