Keshia Knight Pulliam and Brad James finally tied the knot after a year of engagement.

James is Pulliam's second husband. She was previously married to Edgerton Hartwell. Hartwell is a retired National Football League (NFL) player who played for teams like the Baltimore Ravens, the Atlanta Falcons, and the Cincinnati Bengals.

The pair got engaged on December 31, 2015, on the occasion of New Year's Eve, just after four months of dating. They got married the next day, on January 1, 2016. But, unfortunately, their marriage could not last for long.

Hartwell filed for divorce after just over six months of being married on July 25, 2016. Pulliam was pregnant with their daughter Ella during that time, and Hartwell asked for a paternity test.

All in all, Pulliam and Hartwell's relationship did not even last for a year, including their dating, engagement, and marriage. The actress gave birth to their child on January 23, 2021.

Their divorce was finalized in April 2018, where Pulliam won the custody of their daughter. Moreover, the former football player had to pay child support of $3,007 per month.

Pulliam and James' relationship started after the actress' divorce was finalized with her first husband. The pair began dating in 2019 after they met on the set of Pride and Prejudice: Atlanta

They instantly connected and started spending time together. Pulliam told People they had a lot of free time while filming, so they would "be sitting in the cast seats or the van just talking."

Eventually, they exchanged numbers and started dating. After almost a year of dating, the duo got engaged in December 2020. James proposed to The Cosby Show alum with a custom diamond ring.

After the engagement, they celebrated their new beginnings with their immediate family only because of the COVID-19 pandemic. This is a second marriage for both Pulliam and James.

However, the actress sees this as a plus point in their relationship. She said that since both of them were married before, they know what they desire and what they don't.

It makes it so much clearer when you see what it is you do want.

On October 2, 2021, Pulliam announced that she and James tied the knot in late September via Instagram. She posted a series of pictures featuring the newlyweds and an adorable photo of her daughter and James.

Via the lengthy caption, Pulliam gushed about her husband and wedding ceremony. The pair got married at their home in an intimate ceremony surrounded by their family.

Initially, the pair planned a destination wedding, but that plan fell apart due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Regardless, they managed another ceremony, adapting to the present conditions.

She also credited COVID-19 for teaching them to live in the moment and thanked everyone who celebrated their wedding with them.

The actress said the marriage changed her life forever since she married her best friend. She called James her amazing husband and soulmate who renewed her faith in love.

James also took to Instagram to share pictures of the pair, the bridesmaids and bridegroom, Ella, and their wedding bands. Like his wife, James also penned a lengthy caption showing his eternal life to Pulliam.
