The show based on the house members was first announced in August 2020 after Wheelhouse Entertainment struck a deal with The Hype House to develop and produce docuseries, The Hype Life.

In April 2021, Netflix came into the mix and ordered a series with Wheelhouse Entertainment and The Hype House team.

But while many fans of the TikTok stars were excited about the projects, a few were not happy to see the reality series released on Netflix.

Because of that, netizens even spread hate and asked the creators to cancel the show.

However, the show has fought through the backlash, didn’t get canceled, and now will drop on the streaming platform coming January.
