Cheryl Scott is a meteorologist working for ABC 7 Eyewitness News since December 2014. According to her bio in ABC 7 Chicago, she is an experienced and knowledgeable meteorologist who enjoys the challenge which forecasting the unpredictable weather of Chicago provides. 

In November, Scott added another job to her already impressive resume. The new job entailed collaborating with National Geographic to cover the perils that the Great Lakes was facing. While this was indeed a significant event in her life, it certainly was not as significant as her engagement to her long-time boyfriend Dante Deiana.

Scott To Cover  National Geographic Series About The Great Lakes

In Nov 23, 2020, it was announced that Scott was to become a part of National Geographic Channel's series title, "So Great, So Fragile." The five-part series was a collaboration between ABC 7's WLS Channel-7 and National Geographic channel to cover the dangers that were faced by the Great Lakes, particularly in Chicago. 

The series was a new kind of show for ABC 7, in that, it was streaming live on the channel's various connected TV apps, such as on Amazon Fire TV, Android TV, and Apple TV.

Scott's role in the series was to team up with National Geographic scientists to examine the threats that the Great Lakes were facing and to explore solutions for its preservation.

Scott Enjoys Decade Spanning Career In Meteorology At Just Age 35

Scott's career first started in 2006 when she worked as an intern at WCAU-NBC 10 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. After a year there, she went on to work as a weekend weather forecaster for WSEE-TV in Erie, Pennsylvania.

She worked in WSEE-TV for a while then made a move to Knoxville, Tennessee to join NBC's WBIR-TV. While working as a weekend meteorologist for NBC, she was on air when several tornadoes devastated Knoxville in April 2011.

That was not the only highlight of her career. After the disaster, she started volunteering with the Red Cross and currently holds a position on the Board of Directors of the American Red Cross.

In September 2011, Cheryl joined as the morning and weekend meteorologist at NBC 5 in Chicago.

Finally, she had the opportunity of being part of ABC 7 Eyewitness News in December 2014. Her work prior to joining ABC 7 was so noteworthy that ABC 7 introduced her as "an experienced and knowledgeable meteorologist who enjoys the challenge of forecasting Chicago's unpredictable weather."

Cheryl Scott's Personal Life: Engaged to Dante Deiana

Born on January 29, 1985 in New Jersey, Cheryl took keen interest in science from early childhood. She completed her Bachelor’s Degree in Geological Science in 2007 from Brown University and received Meteorology Certification from Mississippi State University in 2010.

An athlete herself from a young age, she is passionate about sports.

Cheryl got engaged to her fiance Dante Deiana in 2018. He is a DJ who performs under the name Dante The Don. He is the resident DJ and partner at Outfit Events. He also plays for all the parties presented by Outfit Events.
