Canadian race car driver James Hinchcliffe embarked his racing career decades ago and currently, he is also embarking his relationship status to next level with someone he went to prom date decades ago!

The Oakville native is a Canadian race car driver. He is best known as a racer for IndyCar Series for Schmidt Peterson Motorsports.

Hinchcliffe is a four-time Verizon IndyCar Series race winner, 2011 Verizon IndyCar Series Rookie of the Year, 2010 Indy Lights runner-up, 2011 Tony Renna Rising Star Award winner and the 2010 Greg Moore Legacy Award winner. He also won IndyCar Iowa in July 2018.

His fame got enriched when he secured the semi-finalist position with Sharna Burgess in the 23rd season of Dancing With The Stars in 2016.

James Hinchcliffe Career Background  

James Hinchcliffe was born on December 5, 1986, at Oakville, Canada and attended McMaster University in his home country as well.

The 31-year-old started his career by finishing third in the open-wheel race at Bridgestone Racing Academy back in 2003. His consecutive win landed him in the Star Mazda Series in 2005 where he finished 3rd.

Afterward, he joined A1 Grand Prix in 2006 and raced with the team till 2007. During the time, he also provided commentary for the Eurosport coverage of Champ Car events.

In 2009 season, he raced at the Indy Lights with Sam Schmidt Motorsports No. 7 car. James debuted at the IndyCar Series in 2011 and won his first race, the Honda Grand Prix in 2013. James joined Schmidt Peterson Motorsports in October 2014 and won the second race of the year in New Orleans.

However, when he was practicing for 2015's  Indianapolis 500, his car crashed, and the steel rod from the suspension impaled through his right thigh and into his left leg. James was hospitalized and was unable to race in the 2015's session.

After a year, James returned to the tracks and won the position for the 100th running of the Indianapolis 500. Interestingly, he also participated in the 23rd season of Dancing with the Stars in the same year. James partnered with professional dancer Sharna Burgess and won the second position on 22 November 2016.

In 2017, James won the first race of the season at the Long Beach Grand Prix. But in 2018, he failed to qualify for the Indianapolis 500 for the first time in his career. But he put his name in the winning list back again after winning IndyCar 2018 in Iowa.

James has been driving race cars for years and along with it he is now also dating someone whom he had known for years too.

James is currently dating the Canadian actress Rebecca Becky Dalton since 2016 who is known for the movie Total Frat (2016).

The duo knew each other since their high school. After breaking up with his former girlfriend, the single James had previously tried to win Rebecca’s heart too by asking her to prom in 2004. She was two years his junior. Rebecca affirmed, and the couple went to the event in James's red Mini Cooper S as friends.

Few weeks from after the event, James graduated and went to pursue his dreams in the racing arena. Then Rebecca graduated after two years and started acting. The duo moved their own way in their entirely different realms.

But James deathly accident in 2015 reunited them again.  The news struck on Rebecca's ears, and after some months she reached to James via a mutual friend. In September 2015, the duo face timed which; led to the chain of their Facebook messages.

After almost 12 years of not knowing each other, the pair met for their first official dinner date in February 2016 and found their likeness. They connected over their ability to laugh together and started dating.

The relationship James has with his girlfriend is so beautiful, and the duo is setting relationship goals together. They even attend events together, and Rebecca also supports her boyfriend during his races.

The cuteness of the couple doesn't end here, they share each other's pictures on Instagram frequently and we couldn’t help but swoon over their blooming romance.
