American dancer Derek Hough had a fluctuating status when it came to his dating life. But his love-life attracted bliss after he started dating in 2015. 

The Utah native rose to prominence after appearing in the Dancing With the Stars in the fourth season of the show. Since then, he has been part of the show as the professional instructor, dancer, and choreographer.

Derek Hough was born on 17 May 1985 in Salt Lake City, Utah in the United States of America. He was the fourth of five children in his family, with father Bruce Hough and mother Marianne Hough.

His father became the chairman of Utah Republican Party twice. His parents divorced when he was just 12 years old.

All of his four siblings are sisters, named Sharee, Marabeth, Katherine, and Julianne. His sister Julianne Hough is also a professional dancer and DWTS champion. She is also an actress who has her roles in  2013's movie Safe Haven.

Derek's Career; Dancing & Acting; Net Worth

33-year-old Derek pursued a dancing career from a young age. He was sent to London at the age of 12 to study dance under coaches. He stayed at the city for ten years and attended Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts.

Derek appeared in the fourth season of Dancing With The Stars and onwards became a professional instructor. He has till date appeared as a pro dancer in the show for 13 seasons, and won five of the season with his respective partner. 

He also won an Emmy Award for Outstanding Choreography for his dedication in the show. Aside, from being a regular choreographer in the show, Ferek also had his hands in the acting realm. 

Back in 2006, he appeared in the Footloose: The Musical in London. He was also going to star in ABC's series Cougar Town, but his hectic schedule in the DWTS made him step away from the project. 

With decades-long work in the dance world, Derek, who was born on 17 May 1985, has amassed a net worth of $4 million. Moreover, he has also earned fame and been high to stardom with his success. 

Dating Fellow DWTS Star, Hayley Erbert 

Gushing about Derek's personal life, he was once rumored to be gay. However, Derek dished out the gay rumors and stated that he was straight. Interestingly, his statement was proven by his dating relationship. 

Derek started dating So You Think You Can Dance star Hayley Erbert since the July of 2015. The pair first met in the set of Dancing with the Stars and connected with each other at the spot.

His girlfriend, Hayley wished Derek on his birthday: On 18 May 2018, she posted a slideshow of pictures with Derek and quoted him to be 'incredibly special.'  She also wrote that Derek has helped her to be a better version of herself.

Before, being with Hayley, Derek was in a relationship with British actress and singer-songwriter India de Beaufort and actress Shannon Elizabeth.

Shannon was his fellow partner in DWTS in 2009, and the couple was hyped about the relationship. The couple finally broke-up with former-girlfriend Shannon sharing the news on Twitter.

He had also been rumored to be dating American actress and singer-songwriter Nicki Reed in 2014. None of his previous relationships lasted for long and Derek had never expressed his love in public.
