Pokimane Blasts Twitch User for Being Too Intrusive Regarding Her Personal Life
Every celebrity has their own preference regarding privacy for their relationship.
While some fans-favorites like Lele Pons and Megan Fox are far from hesitant to share glimpses of their personal life, others prefer to keep their love life close to their heart.
Professional gamer Pokimane, real name Imany Anys, belongs to the latter group. She detests scrutiny and has even slammed "obsessive" fans for being too concerned about her relationship.
Pokimane Prefers to Keep Her Relationship Private
As a gamer, Pokimane splits her time between streaming her games on Twitch and hosting her hugely popular Just Chatting broadcasts.
The internet celebrity interacts with her fans and acknowledges their curiosity in the live question-and-answer sessions.
The conference, however, doesn't always go as expected, as fans can cross the line between interest and intrusion.
A similar thing happened when the streamer hosted a session on November 19, 2021. One particular Twitch user under the name 'Hanahmain' constantly asked her personal questions.
The user enquired why she didn't follow fellow gamer Wendy Luo, known by his stage name Natsumiii.
In the light of the questions, Pokimane went through the user's profile and pinpointed that the user had made many accounts just to ask her the most "weird and random questions about her friends."
The 25-year-old then called out the user for being intrusive, asking if he had met Natsumiii.
She remarked, "Why aren't you following this person? Go do this, Go do that!'… Stop it." Pokimane also clarified she had banned the user multiple times, and his new account was made on November 9.
She then urged her fans to encourage people to stop behaving that way.
"It's weird, and it's obnoxious," she continued, expressing she loved all of her friends dearly.
She also requested her followers to stop trying to psychoanalyze or micro-manage her friendships or relationships with other people.
"Or asking so many weird, repetitive, obsessive questions. I live my private life off stream," she added. Almost all her followers agreed with the fact and supported her stance to speak up for herself.
Sadly, this is not the first time Pokimane has faced trouble on the gaming platform.
On August 27, 2021, she took to Twitter to shed light on sexism existing in the gaming community.
The internet star shared that she mostly kept quiet when playing games because people weren't welcoming about the idea of women playing video games.
She later elaborated on her statement, disclosing she used voice changers while playing games like Valorant.
But as the application made her sound like a robot, she stopped using those and opted to remain quiet whenever uncomfortable.
