Chris, From Young Age, Had Passion For Music

The Grammy-winning musician was born on 12 October 1962 in Portland, Oregon. He spent two years of his childhood in Italy after his parents moved to Italy temporarily.

When he was just 17-years old, Chris joined Mount Hood Community College transferring from his high school to complete his remaining senior year credit so that he could play at Portland Clubs in the evening.

After graduation, Chris studied under trumpet professor, Bill Adam and jazz instructor, David Baker at Indiana University School of Music. This paved a clear path for Chris, a dream he went on to follow.

During his senior year at Indiana University, Chris left college for brief touring experience with Frank Sinatra and Buddy Rich. He then moved to New York to kick-start his studio career in 1985.

Chris then went on to be a part of a decade-long touring adventure with Paul Simon, famous American singer, and songwriter, from 1990 where he learned about recording and got the chance to work with world-famous musicians like Aretha Franklin, Natalie Cole, Bette Midler and more.

Chris’s best works include his 1995 Grammy-winning track Evocations on Becker Brothers' Out of the Loop, Slowing Down (1999), Columbia production Night Sessions (2001), Thousand Kisses Deep (2004), etc.
