Born in Boston, Massachusetts in 1963 John King celebrates his birthday on  August 30. He belongs to a Jewish and Irish descent.

The Boston native graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism from the University of Rhode Island. He also holds honorary doctorate degrees from URI and Hobart and William Smith Colleges.

He started his professional life as a writer for the Associated Press in 1985 then got promoted as the chief political correspondent. He covered the presidential elections in 1992 and 1996.

He was among the first correspondents to report in 1991 from a liberated Kuwait and also received recognition for it.

After polishing a strong career background, he joined CNN in 1997 and was appointed as the Chief National Correspondent in 2005. Until 2005 he served as CNN’s senior White House Correspondent and contributed in covering stories of Iraq War and 9/11.

Over his time in CNN, as a reporter, he has worked with POTUS including conducting an exclusive interview with Bill Clinton in 1998 and accompanying Bush in short trip to Baghdad in 2006.

John King’s peak moments in life surely revolves around CNN as it’s not just the place where he found a stable career, but also found love once again in his life with Dana Bash.  

King met his future wife Bash in 2007--is a senior congressional correspondent at CNN. And just about a year later, the couple turned their professional relationship to an intimate one after getting married. 

The lovers tied the knot of love at Cape Cod in 2008, with the marriage being the second for both the spouses.

King was previously married to wife, Jean and the couple had a son and daughter from their union. Meanwhile, Bash had been married with no children to Jeremy Bash, the Chief of Staff to Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta.
