Many people believed that the former video vixen/ author Karrine Steffans was lucky enough to enjoy the company of rap legends. However, her most recent action would have you believe the opposite.

The 39-year-old former video vixen gained widespread notoriety after the publication of her Vixen series of books. Before she donned the hat of a published author, she had applied her trades as a video vixen and starring more than 20 music videos.

Over the years, Karrine has penned seven books; the most recent being 2015’s Vindicated: Confessions of a Video Vixen, Ten Years Later.

Karrine Steffans With Ex-Boyfriend Kool G Rap: Flees With Son From Abusive Relationship

Karrine met the legendary East Coast emcee, Kool G Rap when she was just 17 years old. The pair moved in together shortly after they began dating in 1994.

However, in 1999, amidst the rumors of her then husband's cheating ways, the couple parted ways.

At 19, she conceived a son, Naim Wilson with her then-boyfriend Kool G Rap. Their son, Naim - an aspiring musician - has followed on his father’s footstep.

Later, Karrine would air the dirty laundry of her relationship with her ex-husband on her memoirs. She alleged Kool of physically abusing her to the point of hospitalization.

Karrine Steffans’ Affinity Towards Dating Rich Boyfriends

Her split with her ex-boyfriend Kool G Rap provided her the chance to explore romances with a plethora of men -- mostly rappers.

Karrine’s long list of ex-boyfriends include the likes of Big Pun, Mos Def, Too Short, Method Man, Ghostface Killah, 50 Cent, Fat Joe and Common, just to name a few.

Despite never identifying as a bisexual woman, she has also tried her hands at dating female rappers, namely Da Brat and Missy Elliott.

Karrine Steffans’ Married & Divorced Twice: Child With 2nd Ex-Husband

Her first ex-husband, Darius McCrary is a star of the classic black sitcom, Family Matters. They had married in 2009. After two years of blissful married life, the couple called it quit in 2011.

Karrine took no time to move on from the failure of her first marriage as she married her second ex-husband, Damian later that year. Damian is the father of Karrine’s second child.

Most recently, she was rumored to have married her ex-boyfriend and Scandal star, Columbus Short. However, the gossip proved to be nothing but a hoax.

Karrine Steffans’ Miscarriage Makes Headlines In 2018

Ebony Magazine in July of 2018 ran a short story about Karrine’s struggle with miscarriage of a child with her ex-boyfriend Rotimi. The story insinuated that her ex-boyfriend had dumped the video vixen after she had suffered a miscarriage.

Reacting to the recently published story, she made a statement with BET.com calling the information three years old.

She would then go on to slam Ebony by saying:

A simply fact-checking call would have helped Ebony realize these events did not just happen, that they were running a three-year-old story, a report which I am sure has also been damaging to Rotimi and his family, all over again.

Her defense of her ex-boyfriend is very telling of her loving personality — the very trait which helped her make friends with various people in the industry.

For now, she seems content with staying off the public radar as she looks forward to completing her next book, which is yet to be named.
