Jim Cantore's First Step In Career Led To Massive Recognition

James M. Cantore was born on 16 February 1964 in Beacon Falls, Connecticut. Following his graduation from Lyndon State College in 1986, Jim was given his first job by The Weather Channel and he has been working there ever since.

The 54-year-old meteorologist is especially recognized for his ability to break down complex weather events into the terms that average viewers can easily understand, which is why he's made to report severe weather events.  

Despite the fact that his best-known agenda is his live field coverage of major weather casting like Hurricane Katrina, Rita, Mitch, Irene, and Matthew among many others, Jim has his contributions spread out beyond weather reporting.

Having reported from events like the Winter X Games, Space Shuttle Discovery launch, NFL games, and PGA tournaments, Jim's early works were developed in the audience favorite Fall Foliage Forecast.

The risk-taking meteorologist also features in the starting of the ECHL's Stockton Thunder entrance video and serves as the narrator on Storm Stories on TWC. He has also filled in occasionally for AI Rocker on The Today Show in 2008. 

According to Payscale, the average annual salary of an American meteorologist is $51K. Being an experienced weather-caster, Jim probably enjoys the salary above an average, contributing to his net worth of $3.5 Million.

Jim Cantore Faced Gravely Marriage

Jim is a married man, who tied the knot with Tamara Cantore, the former executive at The Weather Channel in 1990.

The couple first met when they were working in The Weather Channel back in the 1980s. The workmates soon took their dating to marriage after dating quite a time.

Jim and his wife welcomed their first child, a daughter named Christina in 1993. Later in 1995, Tamara gave birth to a son named Ben. But the twist came when they were raising their children; Tamara was diagnosed with the neurological disease, Parkinson’s Disease and both their children suffered from Fragile X syndrome.

Consequently, the couple's marital relationship did not last long and got divorced in 2009. However, Jim still shares the same love for his children and spends spare time with his daughter and son, as per his social media. Also, he performs charitable works for the victims affected by the disease that hit his ex-wife and his children through the Fragile X Research Foundation and the Parkinson’s Unity Walk.

Is Jim Dating Anyone?

After the separation, Jim was reportedly dating Andrea Butera, the CNN news producer. The sources suggest that the duo started dating since 2010. The reportedly couple also features each other on their respective social account exhibiting close bond but they never confirmed dating status officially. 

One of such instances was on November 2017, where Jim uploaded a picture with Andrea walking off a Soulfully Good Cafe on his Instagram.

Similarly, Andrea Instagrammed a picture along with Jim enjoying lunch at Bear River Bar & Grill in Steamboat Springs in Colorado. It looks like they are enjoying their intimacy, which is demonstrated by their social sites.

When the dating scenario with Andrea was not confirmed, Jim got linked with one of his colleagues from TWC, Alexandra Steele. They were seen making lots of fun together as an anchor of 7 p.m. Eastern hour of Weather Center, which sparked the dating rumor among the fans. But they were not spotted cozying up together in the media eyes.

Despite his married life and dating status some of his fans professed him as a gay. As he has not opened up about his unusual preference, it seems too early to assume him as a gay with the absence of evidence.
