When it comes to delivering weather reports, Janice Huff is one of the most distinguished and experienced forecasters. She has been serving WNBC-New York as Chief Meteorologist since 1996 after joining the channel in January 1995.

1996 wasn't just the year Huff become the Chief Meteorologist of WNBC-New York; it was also the year she became a lawfully wedded wife to Warren Dowdy, a stock analyst. Furthermore, her wedding ceremony became more special as she shared the wedding vows on the very day of her parents’ wedding anniversary.

Janice Huff Knew Her Husband Warren Dowdy Since She Was A Kid

The very talented meteorologist Janice Huff knew her now-husband, Warren Dowdy, from her childhood, or to be exact, since she was 8 years old.

During an interview with njmonthly.com, on March 15, 2010, Huff revealed that her husband lived next door to her family in Morristown, New Jersey.

She also said that she used to see her to-be-husband when she used to travel from South Carolina to Morristown to visit her family in the summer.

The Couple Were Contactless For Almost 20 Years

Though the now happily married couple knew each other since their childhood, there was a time when Janice Huff and Warren Dowdy were almost contactless for 20 years. While having a conversation with the New York Post, on March 17, 2011, the meteorologist stated that she stopped visiting her family in Morristown after 1976.

During the same conversation with the New York Post, Janice unveiled how their paths crossed again. In 1995, out of nowhere, Dowdy contacted her and invited her to his sister’s birthday. After that meeting, they never stayed out of contact. Call it fate or just timing, but sparks flew right on and the couple have been together ever since.

The Lovable Duo Had A Special Christmas Wedding

After the South Carolina native, Janice Huff, and the Morristown native, Wallen Dowdy met each other after 20 years, in 1995, they spent quite a little time together and then began dating. In March 1996, the duo decided to take a step forward and got engaged.

Following their engagement, the newly engaged couple determined to buy a house of their own. After looking for a while, they eventually found a perfect one in Denville. They bought the house then and there and later fully decorated it with the help of Marshall Watson Interiors. By October, they moved in too.

Even though the couple was engaged for nine months, Dowdy planned to wait for some more time before they shared the wedding vows. But, Huff had some different plans and decided to tie the knots in December of 1996 itself.

So, she made all the arrangements in just over a weekend, and the couple eventually legalized their bond. Their wedding day got more special as it was Christmas time and they got married on the same day Huff’s parents’ got married!

The lawfully married couple is still together and enjoys their holiday times in Hawaii, which she calls their second home.
