Betsy has confirmed Judy isn’t her mother through a tweet back in 2017. Judy also proved the rumors to be wrong through her tweet back in February 2018, stating that she and her husband were not Betsy’s parents.

In reality, former bookstore assistant Jane Tharp Woodruff is her mother, and Scott Woodruff is her father. Her parents got married on 9 July 1983.

Betsy has two siblings; brother Chris and sister Jane. Chris is the executive director at Life Raft International, and Jane works at Dunlap Bennett & Ludwig.

From her school days, she was heavily involved in Dow journalism program and also received numerous awards from Michigan Association Press. She graduated with a degree in English from Hillsdale College.

Giving a shot to her passion in journalism she started her career as a summer intern for the Washington Examiner in 2011.

And later in 2012, she earned the William F. Buckley Fellowship from the National Review Institute. She previously worked for Slate magazine. Another American TV personality, Katherine Timpf is also a graduate of Hillsdale College.
