He along with his siblings was raised by his single mother who taught them how to cook as she needed help in the kitchen. Among the three, David was the one who always made his way back to the kitchen and soon became fascinated by it.

For his college, with the intention to establish his career in the hard news, he attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where he graduated with a degree in journalism.

David Venable’s Career Change From News Anchor To TV Show Host At QVC

After graduating, the towering man with a height of 6'6 inches started his career in the television news industry. He worked as an anchor and reporter for the mid-day news in West Virginia and Altoona, Pennsylvania.

During his time as a new anchor at Altoona, he toppled on the vacancy for QVC on the local newspaper. Soon after working six years as a broadcast journalist he applied for it and was selected at QVC in 1993.

He was hired to promote epicure food products for QVC. And soon with David’s warm presence, outstanding commentaries, and famous happy dance, he captured the heart of millions of his viewers. He has been at QVC since 1993.
