For his college, with the intention of pursuing a career in hard news, he attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he graduated with a degree in journalism.

David Venable’s Career Change From News Anchor To TV Show Host At QVC

After graduating, the towering man with a height of 6 feet 6 inches started his career in the television news industry. He worked as an anchor and reporter for the mid-day news in West Virginia and Altoona, Pennsylvania.

During his time as a news anchor at Altoona, he landed a vacancy at QVC after he stumbled onto an ad in a local newspaper. Soon after working six years as a broadcast journalist, he applied for and was selected at QVC in 1993.
