Actress/Comedian Abbi Jacobson opened up about her preference regarding what gender she preferred to date. Her latest statement proved that she was as indiscriminate as they come.

The 34-year-old comedic actress rose into prominence after creating and co-starring in the Comedy Central show Broad City. Her humorous illustrations have become a fan favorite and critics’ darling.

At present, Abbi is set to feature as a lead on Matt Groening’s upcoming Netflix special titled Disenchantment, which is slated to be released on August 17. 6 Ballons, a Marja-Lewis Ryan-directed movie starring her, premiered on March 12, 2018, at South By South.

Abbi, and her partner, Ilana Glazer, co-wrote and performed in a web series called Broad City (2009 - 2011). After some stellar reviews from critics and a growing cult following, FX bought a script commitment for a series from them in 2011. Later, Comedy Central purchased the script from FX and ordered a pilot.

Broad City is in its fourth season, equally adored by both the critics and fans. It has a respectable score of 8.4/10 on IMDB.

Season two received the revered ‘universal acclaim’ status from Metacritic. FX renewed the series for a fourth and fifth season on January 16, a month before the premiere of season three.

Besides, Broad City, the Pennsylvania native, has made many TV appearances on titles like College Humor(2013), Inside Amy Schumer(2015), Lip Sync Battle(2015), and Drunk History(2018), to name a few.

She has applied her skills on the big screen as well, working in Neighbors 2(2016), The Lego Ninjago Movie(2017), and Person to Person(2017).

Abbi published two coloring books in 2013 -- Color This Book: New York City and its sequel Color This Book: San Francisco. Her illustration on Carry This Book, published in October 2016, made her a New York Times Best Seller.

Abbi's Hands-on Good Deeds: Selling Artwork To Donate

As much as she earns, Abbi doesn't let herself indulge in her wealth. Instead, she has taken to helping an organization called the American Civil Liberties Union. The organization works to defend and preserve individual rights guaranteed by the Constitution of the United States. 

It's not every day you see someone helping a nonprofit organization that is focused on fighting for people who cannot enjoy their promised rights. The organization defends LGBT rights, prisoners' rights, racial justice, women's rights, voting rights, and many other fronts that deserve attention.

Abbi announced on her Instagram on September 19, 2018, that she would be selling her original artworks from her first three books in New York City at a 1-day Pop-Up event.

She Suffered Backlash Following Weight Loss

Season four of Broad City saw Abbi lose considerable weight. Fans shared mixed feelings about her weight loss. A noticeable chunk of her fanbase accused her of conforming to the beauty standards set by Hollywood.

The same set of supporters also accused Comedy Central of coercing her into joining a weight loss program and tailoring her to Hollywood standards.

Bridesmaid At Co-Creator Illana's Wedding Amidst Gay Affair

The Broad City star was born on February 1, 1984, in Wayne, Pennsylvania, to an artist mother and a graphic designer father.

After graduating from high school, she enrolled in Maryland Institute College of Art to study fine arts and video production. She later moved to New York in 2006, where she would meet the co-creator of the show Broad City, Ilana Glazer.

Ilana Glazer and her husband married in a secret wedding in late April last year. Only close friends and family attended the wedding in which Abbi was rumored to have been the bridesmaid.

She was once rumored to have been dating comedian Carrie Brownstein. Her alleged gay rumor with Carrie gained plenty of gossip columns in celebrated websites Autostraddle and Mashable.

The stories appeared after the openly gay/bisexual comedian Carrie, and Abbi popped up on each other’s Instagram in regular frequency.

Abbi Goes Both Ways: Could Do With Boyfriend Or Girlfriend

Amidst gay rumors, in April 2018, speaking to Vanity Fair, the 34-year-old actress remarked on her sexuality, saying she was open to having both boyfriend and girlfriend. She insisted on going both ways and labeled the world her oyster.

Despite these claims, we are yet to see her flaunt her boyfriend or a girlfriend. Her secretive dating skills are commendable.
