ITV presenter, Alison Hammond failed to make her relationship permanent. Her failed relationship with fiancee left her with a bad taste but still chose not to give up on her quest for love.  

The 45-year-old gained widespread popularity when she appeared on the season three of Big Brother in 2002 which opened the doors of endless opportunities for her. She quickly established herself in TV and anchored various tv shows, most notable of which is ITV's daytime programme This Morning.

Born on 5 February 1975 in Birmingham, England to an immigrant family from the Carribean (Nevisian father and a Guyanese mother), Alison's first taste of show-biz came as a child actress and holiday entertainer in Tunisia.

Growing up as a chubby kid, body-shaming for her became a ritual. As a result, she had to develop a very thick skin and learned to let go of the taunts, which was to later serve her well in her career in the showbiz.

Alison Hammond Reached Great Career Heights As Reality Star

2002 edition of Big Brother was a prelude to Alison's overarching career which would span over more than a decade and a half, with the television programmes such as Celebrity Fit Club and Big Star’s Little Life.

Her resume also boasts an impressive catalog of appearances on reality TV shows, namely: ‘Stars In Their Eyes,’ ‘Celebrity Ready Steady Cook,’ ‘Daily Cook Challenge,’ and many more. Similarly, in 2010, daughter of the city of Birmingham found herself begging for her to be freed in the jungle while filming ‘I’m A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here!’

Not just that, having already been one of the most known faces in the UK, she was chosen as the brand ambassador of DFS Home Furnishing.

Her reality show career was still going strong and became a participant in the BBC’s ‘Masterchef Celebrity’ two years later in 2012. Partnering with Aljaž Škorjanec in the season twelve of ‘Strictly Come Dancing,’ she wowed the audience with her silky moves on the dance floor. The partners were later ousted after seven rounds.

She has brought her talent from the reality show to the small screen and has been a presenter of ITV's This Morning since 2003.

Debuted In Hollywood As Voice Actor

Alison's talent, however, is not only limited to the small screen. She made her Hollywood debut by voicing the character of Frankenlady in the UK release of the third installment of the animation franchise Hotel Transylvania, Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation, in June 2018. She had, previously, worked on pantomime productions of ‘Beauty and The Beast’ and ‘Snow White and Seven Dwarfs.’

The film went on to become Sony Picture Animation's highest grossing movie until then, surpassing its predecessor Hotel Transylvania 2. Although not a great success critically, it— and Alison— won the hearts of millions of Transylvania fans.

Sugar Was Alison's Cocaine Which Hindered Her Weight Loss

Alison's admission of ‘being OK’ with people calling her fat on the show ‘This Morning’ received a lot of attention on British tabloids. Contrary to these comments, however, in 2006 in an attempt to deflate any ridicule that might come her way, she had a gastric band fitted on her. However, this method of weight loss didn’t work.

Her battle with losing weight continued from her early teens well into her 40’s. After being inspired by fellow TV star Lisa Ray’s weight loss, in 2017 she participated in ITV’s Sugar-Free Farm, a show where celebrities are cut-off from all refined carbohydrates and processed food and forced to follow a strict diet. Her time at the show turned tricks for her as she lost an astonishing 11 stone in the following years.

Speaking to Closer Magazine in the same year, she called chocolate ‘her cocaine,’ and her obsession with chocolate led her to gain weight.

First Marriage Failed, Had To Raise Her Son Alone

The cult TV persona with a massive fan following has had a stop-go married life.  Previously she was married to Noureddine Boufaied, a cab driver Manchester and had a son, Aiden, with her husband before splitting from him. 

After the split. she had to take care of her son all by herself. She recently opened up about how it has been hard for her to raise her kid as a single mother and work at the same time.

Trying to find that balance is hard, sometimes I don't get it completely right.

Despite the divorce and having to raise son alone, she never lost hope of finding herself the right partner.

After her divorce, she began seeing Jamie Savage, whom she met online in 2014.

Jamie was a security manager, and the couple got comfortable with each other after meeting up a few times after their online chats and dates. However, after almost three years of dating and sharing the engagement ring, the couple decided ‘to split up.’

In an exclusive interview with OK! Alison professed sadness in losing husband-to-be, Jamie. Despite having immense love in between the pair, they could not work out their relationship which led to split.

All is not gloom for the TV star as their split, however, could be temporary after she hinted she might get back with her former partner in the near future.Â
