If you have watched Netflix’s original comedy-drama series Orange Is the New Black, you must be familiar with Taylor Schilling.

In the series, the actress played the role of Piper Chapman, for which she later received a nomination for the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series.

In addition, she also received two Golden Globe Award nominations for Best Actress – Television Series Musical or Comedy and Best Actress – Television Series Drama.

Coming to her personal life, Schilling is a proud queer — and has reportedly been dating her partner, Emily Ritz, since late 2019.

Taylor Schilling and Partner Emily Ritz’s Relationship

The Dark Matter actress first introduced her partner, Ritz, to the world in 2020 while officially coming out as queer.

At the time, Schilling’s partner apparently took to Instagram stories to share a picture of the couple. She also wrote, “I couldn’t be more proud to be by your side Taylor.”

Responding to that, the actress quoted “Happy Pride!” and shared the photo on her Instagram stories, too.

Following the revelation, fans congratulated the couple on various social media platforms.

“wow, happy for her,” a fan tweeted, while another added, “So so so cute...really are lovely individuals. So normal.”

Someone also chimed, “this is the best thing I found out this year.”

That said, Schilling and her partner, Ritz, have propelled their love life privately since then, with both even opting away from posting their pictures together.

Who Is Emily Ritz?

Taylor Schilling’s Dating History and Thoughts on Relationships

Back in 2015, Schilling and her sexuality became the topic of discussion when rumors started swirling that she was in a relationship with actress Carrie Brownstein.

According to online outlets, the two started as platonic friends before eventually growing feelings for each other and taking it to the next level.

But they never confirmed dating one another, and the relationship rumors went unaddressed.

However, in May 2017, Schilling spoke with Evening Standard, and probably for the first time, she opened up about her personal life.

The actress first described herself as an expansive person, while adding that no part of her could be labeled contrary to what society expects.

“I really don’t fit into a box — that’s too reductive,” she further said.

She then went on to admit that she was single at the time. But she was also quick to reveal that she had experienced a lot of love from the wonderful relationships she had in the past.

Schilling also responded to the question related to her willingness to have kids and family by stating that she was not sure about it at that time.
