After dating for about a year, MacFarlane ended things with Clarke due to busy schedules.

According to E! News, the long-distance relationship didn't work out because MacFarlane was based in California, and Clarke had to go to Europe for her shoots.

The couple ended things amicably and are still friends.

He dated Alexis Knapp and Jessica Szohr in 2013 and 2014, respectively. MacFarlane was also seen together with Halston Sage on a friendly date in 2017.
