Tattoos have been a part of the music industry for a very long time. A lot of musicians have tattoos inked on different parts of their bodies.

Post Malone's iconic face tattoos, Cardi B's full inked legs, Amber Rose's Hollywood sign on her arms, and Lil Uzi Vert's face tats — these are some of the iconic inks in the music industry.

Very few artists are with no tattoos, and one such artist is Lil Baby

Lil Baby Has No Tattoos

The rapper revealed the reason for not having any tattoos during an interview with The New York Times. He never saw himself being a rapper or a singer.

He also did not want to have a "dope boy" look and instead wanted to keep his appearance straight.

"That's why I ain't got no tattoos, because I always knew I was going to run my money up, and I was going to have to go sit in front of some people to do something with my money. And I didn't want them to look at me like a dope boy."

Similarly, having to talk with white people also motivated him not to have any tattoos. He did not want people to reconsider him in meetings just because he had inks on his face.

He told something similar to iHeartRadio in March 2020. He told them he did not want people to think he was a thug simply by looking at him. He also shared ideas about what he would like as his first tattoo.

Lil Baby said he wanted something sentimental to be inked on his body.

Lil Baby Was Not Comfortable Calling Himself a Rapper

In an interview with Vanity Fair, Lil Baby confessed he was not comfortable calling himself a rapper. He had to stop himself from saying that he was not a rapper and start saying he was one.

I went from telling people I ain't a rapper to telling people this my life.

Regardless of what Lil Baby believed before, he was making strides in the music industry. He rose to fame with his mixtape Perfect Timing in 2017.

A year later, he released his debut album Harder Than Ever. The same year, he released the two mixtapes, Street Gossip and Drip Harder.
