Hardwick met Hearst in 2013 during the production of a Talking Dead episode and bonded over their fathers who had cancer. The duo did not keep in touch, but after several months, a mutual friend encouraged Hardwick to call Hearst, and the rest is history. 

Before becoming an actress, Hearst was a model. Fashion photographer Steven Meisel discovered her in 2003, and in April 2004, she was on the cover of Vogue Italia. She has since graced the covers of countless fashion magazines in Italy, France, Korea, Japan, Latin America, and the United States.

By 2008, Hearst was awarded “Supermodel of the Year” during the Michael Awards and the “Best International Supermodel” at the Madrid Glamor Awards.

Hearst then made her jump to the screens and has appeared in several movies. Some of her credits include Gossip Girl (2009), Cabin Fever: Patient Zero (2014), and Desire (2014). 

On October 22, 2015, Hearst bagged the Best Actress award at the International Film Festival Manhattan for her role of Chanel in Stealing Chanel. By that time, she was already dating Hardwick, and on August 21, 2016, People had reported that the Nerdist talk show host and the Z Nation actress had tied the knot. 

The couple had exchanged their vows in front of about 450 guests, including celebrities like Olivia Munn, Sarah Silverman, and Michael Sheen. Hearst is currently pregnant with their first child.

In 2018, Hardwick was accused by his ex-girlfriend and actress Chloe Dykstra of sexual assault and abuse. Although she did not reveal the name of her abuser in her viral essay “Rose-Colored Glasses: A Confession,” many believed that her sober 20 years older lover was Hardwick. 

Hardwick vehemently denied the allegations, and his wife also broke her silence of the matter and defended him. 

The model explained that as a victim of a toxic relationship; she did not intend to defend her husband but to speak the truth. She shared that her husband was loving and compassionate and was the only person who stood by her and helped her heal without judgment.  

She also added that Hardwick was a good man and that she completely supported her husband and believed that the truth would always win.
