Does Charlize Theron Have a Boyfriend? Inside the Actress’ Dating Life

Charlize Theron is letting everyone know she is not dating anyone.  

On February 13, 2022, the Academy Award winner had fans in a frenzy when she shared a selfie with a mystery man on Instagram.

The actress and her male companion posed for photos at SoFi Stadium in L.A. during the big game. 

"Super Bowl with my' mystery man. Thanks for letting me borrow your hubby Ash," she captioned the photo of her and her friend clad in L.A. Rams gear. 

According to Us Weekly, it seemed like the "Ash" she was referring to was her close friend and Charlize Theron Africa Outreach Project executive director, Ashlee George.

Besides the selfie, Theron also uploaded a snap of herself and her friend's hubby on the Jumbotron. "You better werk #SBLVI #GoRams," she wrote alongside the picture.

Despite the actress clarifying that it was her friend's husband, some fans thought the unidentified man was her new boyfriend. 

Charlize Theron's Dating Life 

During her May 2022 appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show, Theron got candid about her dating life, revealing that she had not dated anyone for quite a while.

She shared she had been on a few dates but had dated nobody for over five years. 

But that did not mean she was not open to dating anyone and noted that whoever she dated needed to be someone special.

"I feel like I'm in a place in my life where you gotta come with a lot of game. Not the kind of game that we think of. The kind of game that's like, 'My life is really good, so you better be able to bring that and maybe better,' because I won't accept anything less," Theron added. 

Although The Old Guard star was single, she was not rushing to get into a relationship and instead focused on being a single mom to her kids. 

She iterated she did not feel lonely nor long for a boyfriend and that being a mother fulfilled her. 

According to Theron, becoming a mother shifted her priorities.

She explained it took a lot of work to be a parent, but when she got to bed at the end of the day, she did not want to change anything. 

Who Is Charlize Theron Married To?

For the unversed, Theron has two adopted kids.

She adopted her first child and son, Jackson Theron, in March 2012 and her second child and daughter, August Theron, in July 2015. 

The actress raises her kids alone and has never been married, although she came close to it with The Interpreter star, Sean Penn. 

Theron and Penn had been friends for a long time before they started dating in December 2013.

The latter had been married to Madonna and Robin Wright and took his new relationship as an opportunity to right the wrongs of his previous failed marriages.

Theron was thrilled with her relationship and told Esquire she was very lucky to have Penn as a partner.

The couple reportedly got engaged in December 2014 during a trip to Paris, but in mid-2015, it was reported that the relationship was over.

They have not revealed the reason for their split to this day.
