Ron Corning is an American television host at the ABC affiliate WFAA in Dallas, Texas who co-anchors the morning newscast, Daybreak, and anchors the noon program Midday.

He was brought up in a small paper mill town in eastern Maine. His father worked in construction and mother was a housewife who carved life as a volunteer librarian, Cub Scout den and a brand trip chaperone.
He grew up in a low-income family in a small town. Now aged 49, he was the first in his family to go to college. Ron got his primary education from the Calais High School and graduated from the Wheaton College in Massachusetts.

Ron Corning’s first job in journalism was as a general assignment reporter for WDTV, the CBS affiliate and then as a weekend anchor and reporter at WBOY, the NBC affiliate.
Later he worked for WTOV in Ohio and joined KTVI, the Fox Station in St. Louis. He went to Fox affiliate in Seattle, Washington, KCPQ and also worked for WNYW/Ch. 5. He co-anchored World News Now and ABC World News This Morning and served as the news anchor of The Daily Buzz.
Having worked with the top news channels, he finally joined WFAA from April 2011 and replaced Chris Flanagan as co-host of WFAA's Daybreak. He is offered an average annual salary of about $97,327.
