As his role as the transgender woman, Dil, brought him a nomination for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor, Jaye, age 53, soon portrayed as the evil sun god Ra in Stargate in 1994. But the actor eventually retired from acting as he ‘genuinely hated the fame’ he was showered with.
