American actress Kelly McCreary romantically appeared on the screen while her real-life relationship status remained obscure and away from the limelight.

The Milwaukee native is famously known as Tyra Dupre for The CW's Emily Owens, M.D. Her fame got globally recognized after she starred as Maggie Pierce on the popular ABC series Grey's Anatomy since 2014.

36-year-old Kelly moved to New York City in her teenage and enrolled in Barnard College of Columbia University. She appeared in musical plays and commercials during her college days and graduated from the college in 2003.

Kelly made her first professional acting debut via the  Broadway musical Passing Strange in 2008. Later, in 2010 she debuted in television through PBS series Cyberchase.

The same year, Kelly landed a role in the musical comedy, Perfect Harmony and also starred in the USA Network's White Collar. After a year, in 2011 she appeared with a small role in her first drama movie, Being Flynn.

Kelly got her first significant role and her first break through the medical series Emily Owens, M.D in 2012. Through the series, Kelly amassed vast attention. And in 2014, she was cast as Margaret Pierce in  ABC's drama series, Grey's Anatomy. She is a regular star in the sitcom. 

As for 2018, Kelly voiced the character Dot in the Netflix animated series Harvey Street Kids. She will also appear as Shanita in the upcoming Dominique Morisseau's Skeleton Crew.

Kelly, who was born on 29 September 1981, is a daughter to parents, Geoffrey McCreary and Mary. And for her love life, Kelly experiences love and romance but just not where everyone expects.

Kelly's On-Screen Romance Is On Safe Side

With the arrival of the fifteenth season of Grey's Anatomy in September 2018, Kelly dropped some spoiler hints about her on-screen romance in an interview. She teased that she will be put in an awkward position within some love drama.

The characters of the show have been through some great turmoils and smiles over the seasons and have had a drastic character development since the first season and Kelly shared her gratitude to the fans for coming back to the show even after getting their hearts broken.

Kelly especially put emphasis on her character, Maggie's relationship development with Jackson, who is played by Jesse Williams. She hinted on the two characters being in a 'good place' this season, further adding that there was a real sweetness to them. 

Grey's Anatomy is surpassing ER as the longest-running medical drama and is introducing two new doctors that are played by Alex Landi and Chris Carmack.

Romance Fuels Gay Rumors, Boyfriend Soothes Fire?

Kelly has been in a lot of relationships, but it happens to be only on screen.  For instance, she portrays the love interest of Jackson Avery played by Jesse Williams in the widely known series, Grey's Anatomy

Moreover, she also acted as a gay surgeon-in-training, Tyra Dupre in the set of CW's Emily Owens, M.D. While she appears as a lesbian romancing in the screens, many of her fans doubt if she is gay in real as well. 

The gay rumors got fueled with the low-keyness Kelly has maintained in her personal life as well. The details of her dating any boyfriend has not surfaced out to the media yet. She has also not been romantically linked with any men in the past.

So, it's apparent that she doesn't have a boyfriend to get married or just sway the gay rumors away.

But the absence of a man in her life doesn't mean that she is gay in real because she has confirmed the rumors herself. It would also be inappropriate to tag someone with such labels without their permissions.  

Perhaps, Kelly is just focused on her budding career than to focus on family life and relationship duties for now.
