American television journalist, Jane Pauley had a fantastic Tv career. Mostly known for her anchoring the CBS Sunday Morning, her journey was fulfilling in every sense, whether that be becoming a role model to many or living the life of a millionaire.

The Indiana native is best known as a host of NBC's Tv show, The Today Show, serving for more than a decade. She later made her name as the host of CBS News' morning show, CBS Sunday Morning.

She took her first step in the media world was as a reporter at then-CBS affiliate WISH-TV in Indianapolis.

Jane Pauley's Career:  Joined NBC in 1975

After three years at her job, Jane joined the NBC affiliate WMAQ-TV in 1975, co-anchoring in a significant evening newscast in Chicago.

In 1976, she joined as a correspondent in NBC's Today in 1976. She even served as a writer for NBC News for some time.

However, after 27 years of her life in broadcasting, Jane announced that she was leaving NBC back in June 2003. After a few months, she convinced the network and signed a deal to host her daytime talk show that premiered in 2004. However, the show didn't become successful due to poor ratings.

In addition to her appearance in the TV shows, Jane is also an author of a book Skywriting: A Life Out of the Blue, published in 2004, where she talked about her struggle with bipolar disorder. 

Apart from her battle with the disease, Jane returned to Today show to contribute in a weekly segment Your Life Calling in 2009.

Post NBC, Jane Pauley Headlined CBS Sunday Morning 

Jane had her career on the run again after she filled in as a guest anchor of CBS This Morning and The Evening News since 2014. Later in 2016, Jane replaced Charles Osgood as a host after his retirement.

Originally hosted by Charles Kuralt, the brainchild of the show in 1979, CBS Sunday Morning was later hosted by Charles Osgood. Osgood hosted the CBS Sunday Morning for more than 22 years before passing the baton to Jane.

The NBC veteran has served as the lead host of CBS Sunday Morning ever since and has preserved the traditionality of the show along with few tweaks to give it a modern touch. 

CBS News Sunday Morning Celebrates Four Decades With Jane 

The show CBS Sunday Morning reached a milestone when it completed its forty years of stint on CBS in September 2018.

In an episode entitled, Sunday's Best: Celebrating 40 Years of CBS Sunday Morning, Jane interviewed the creator of the most recognizable fashion brand, Ralph Lauren.

In the interview, Ralph talked about his childhood days, his decision in moving towards fashion and changing his last name as a young man, the 50th anniversary of the company (valued over $10 billion), and many more.

He even shared that you don't have to wear a label to be important and he gave a living proof not wearing his own label.

The interview was part of the Sunday Morning's primetime special which featured interviews with supermodel Chrissy Teigen and her singer husband, John Legend, Academy Award winner Robert Redford and other stars as well. 

Jane Pauley's Bio: Happily Married With Cartoonist Husband Garry Trudeau

The long-serving host was born on 31 October 1950 to Richard and Mary Pauley. Her parents raised her along with her sister Ann Pauley who she idolizes.

Her sister is her best friend and closest confidant since childhood. Jane, who had a keen interest in the analysis of political activity, gained her graduate degree from Indiana University in political science in 1971.

Apart from her career, Jane is also a wife and a mother at her home. She shares the marital relationship with American cartoonist Garry Trudeau, 69. The couple has been holding each other's hand since June 1980.
