Still, there are a few things that fell through the cracks. One such instance can be dated back to 2017—the year he came close to being married as he got engaged.

After maintaining radio silence for the better part of a decade, Sharpe made headlines again when he was linked to American fashion model Nicole Murphy in 2017.

Then again, the rumors died out the same year, as he got engaged to beautiful fitness instructor Katy Kellner from Atlanta, Georgia. Unfortunately, the couple's romance didn't last long either.

And the news of their separation went public when Katy shared a picture on her Instagram in November 2018 flaunting her baby bump with the father of her baby—a fitness instructor named Marlon Byrd.

Furthermore, back in 2010, Sharpe was making headlines for a sexual assault case filed by ex-girlfriend Michelle Bundy. In time, the case was closed. Apparently, Bundy was accused of fabricating her claims against the retired footballer, possibly for some media mileage.

In addition, Sharpe has kids with three women, one being Erika Evans. The name of the other two women remains unrevealed.

Despite his failed relationships, Shannon is the father to three children: daughters, Kayla and Kaley from two different women and a son Kiari from Erika Evans of Austell. As noted, all of his children are from his different relationships. Both his eldest daughter Kayla and only son Kiari were 28 years old, as of 2020. Kiari is the youngest of the three whereas Kayla is the oldest. All of the kids were born in 1992. 

In 2004, Shannon and Erika got involved in an altercation in his house after which law enforcement officers visited them and interviewed them about the incident. Although the officer made no arrest at the house, Erika filed a misdemeanor battery case against the former NFL star alleging that he forcefully removed her from his house when she was only there to pick up her son.

Later, Shannon turned himself in and was released with a $1000 bond. 

According to Denverpost, the former footballer's son Kiari studied both biology and business management at Georgia Southern. In 2014, Shannon tweeted a picture of him with his son and Erika and wrote, "very proud parents." In the Twitter picture, their son stood between the parents and donned his graduation attire.

And his daughter Kayla studied pre-law at Georgia Southern University. In 2020, Shannon wrote a heartfelt birthday message to his elder daughter Kayla. He wrote, "This is my 1st born, Kayla aka Shannon Sharpe Jr. Today is her bday. Everytime I see you, I’m more impressed with the woman you’ve become. I LUV you more than you can possibly know. Enjoy this day and many more to come."

Furthermore, his younger daughter Kaley attended Florida State University with the goal of becoming a medical examiner. In 2022, she earned her medical degree from Indiana University. 

Reportedly, the children grew up with their respective moms in Georgia and Florida, and their father Shannon visited them frequently.

According to AmoMama, Shannon is proud to be the father of his three children and hopes to have his grandchildren sit on his lap, unlike his father who couldn't enjoy the luxury to see Shannon's kids as he was demised at age 39 due to prostate cancer. In 2016, Shannon also found out that he had also been suffering from prostate cancer, which he cured through a specific surgery that requires a patient to be implanted with radioactive seeds. 

As per the magazine, Shannon hid the information from his mother and children for a year so that they would not worry about his unprecedented condition.  

And Shannon's children also feel the same way about their dad. In 2022, on the occasion of Father's Day, the three step-siblings made a combined video expressing their most momentous time with their loving father.

Sharpe was born on June 26, 1968, to a low-income family in Chicago, Illinois to his father Pete Sharpe, and his mother Mary Alice Dixon.

His parents divorced when he was just 3 months old, and he was raised by his grandmother Mary Porter on a farm in rural Glenville, Georgia with his elder brother Sterling Sharpe and sister.

Amidst the difficult situations, he attended Glenville High School. He later joined Savannah State University in Georgia.

In the latter institute, he earned a BS degree in criminal justice in 1989—something his older brother Sterling Sharpe suggested. His older brother Sterling Sharpe is also a former American football wide receiver and a five-time all-pro receiver with the Green Bay Packers.
