Who Is Toni Braxton Dating?

The singer is dating her fiancé, Birdman. The pair first connected back in 2002. Braxton was featured on the rapper's debut album track, ‘Baby You Can Do It.’ The music video featured the couple cozying up to each other with Braxton wrapped around the rapper's arm.

Fast forward to 2016, and the rumors started swirling around when Birdman accompanied the singer for her performance at the inaugural Grammy Park event in May. The singer’s sister Tamar also started teasing the couple online.

Braxton fueled those rumors by inviting Birdman on stage during her performance at the Fox Theater in Atlanta in June 2016.

The couple made their first official red-carpet debut the same month. The duo was seated together and pictured holding hands at the 2016 BET Awards as well.

The couple again appeared at the 2016 BMI Awards together. Braxton was honored with the BMI President's Award. To show support, her family, along with her rumored boyfriend, were present. Still, the pair were silent about their relationship.

However, Tamar confirmed her sister’s relationship when she appeared on The Wendy Williams Show. Wendy Williams had asked if the rumored couple were still together, to which Tamar confidently replied that they were.

Tamar further revealed how supportive the rapper had been towards their family and even called him her "brother-in-law."

News started buzzing again when Braxton was pictured with a massive diamond ring on her ring finger in November 2017. The singer had just recently received the Legend Award for the 2017 Soul Train Award.

Tamar took to her Instagram to congratulate her sister’s achievement while subtly hinting the pair were engaged. In her caption, Tamar had slyly added “Williams” after her sister's name, indicating Braxton was now Braxton-Williams.

In January 2018, the pair released their second collaboration together titled ‘Heart Away.’ In an interview with Williams on her talk show, Birdman had gushed about his fiancée. The rapper called the singer his everything and that he loved her to death.

However, in 2019 speculations started to build up when Braxton shared a cryptic Instagram post. The caption suggested her life had taken a new turn. The fans began guessing the two had called off their engagement as the pair had unfollowed each other.

Braxton debunked those rumors, stating things were good between them. The pair were still together and very much in love. However, the couple has been pretty back and forth about their wedding date.

During an interview with Rick & Sasha, the couple discussed how they wanted their wedding. The rapper revealed he wanted a quick "drive-thru" wedding, which the singer was wholly opposed to.

After five years, the couple has still not confirmed if they have tied the knot.

Toni Braxton’s Previous Relationship

Braxton had been previously married to Mint Condition member Keri Lewis for 12 years. The pair tied the knot in April 2001 and welcomed their first child, Denim Braxton-Lewis, a year later. The singer again got pregnant in 2002 and gave birth to her second son Diezel Braxton-Lewis in 2003.

However, the pair called it quits in July 2013. The reason behind their divorce surrounded money. Her insecurities from her Lupus diagnosis had also added to their split.

The singer revealed the pair had briefly dated even after their divorce. But now, the two are apart for good.
