Dana Perino's and Future Husband Peter Love at First Sight

It was 17 August 1997, and Perino boarded a flight from Denver to Chicago. Next to her seat was business mogul McMahon, whom she met for the first time, she shared the story in her 2017 book 'And The Good News Is."

Impressed with his cute looks and British accent, Perino immediately thought of starting a relationship with him. She even checked if he had worn an engagement ring - and to her blessing, he was single.

“I was walking down the jetway behind this cute little blonde with her ponytail swinging, and I thought, I hope I sit beside her,” McMahon told Yahoo Life, followed by comments from the Fox News Host on what was her first impression of her now-husband. "Oh, he’s cute, and he’s not wearing a wedding ring, and he has a British accent."

She also recalled the meeting speaking to the Hudson Union Society and revealed that she only paid attention to him after he asked if she required his assistance to put her handbag in the overhead section.

"I did this quick scan that all women can do," she shared.

The strangers, then, connected instantly at first sight, and they ended up talking for the whole journey to Chicago.

But Dana had some reservations as they chatted along the way. She shared,

I remember looking out the window saying, 'Okay Lord, I know I asked you to help me find somebody, but he lives in England, he's 18 years older than me, he's been married twice before — did I mention he lives in England?

At the end of the flight, they exchanged emails and phone numbers - and thereafter, they regularly kept in touch with each other.

Eleven months after their first meeting, McMahon proposed to Perino to marry him. The Fox News anchor, however, took nearly a couple of months to accept the proposal.

Dana gave me a letter and the letter told me how much she loved me, how much she had enjoyed her time in the U.K., how much she enjoyed being with me. And then at the end she said, ‘Yes, I will marry you.'

Perino And McMahon Have Dog as Children

Although the couple does not have any children, they do not repent their decisions about not conceiving.
