Tommy Fury, Love Island alum and half-brother of WBC heavyweight champ Tyson Fury, made his United States debut on August 29 when he took on Anthony Taylor to kickoff the Jake Paul-Tyron Woodley main card.

Fury, who had the bigger and stronger frame at 180 pounds, was definitely the better boxer while fighting someone who had never boxed professionally before. He immediately established his advantage against Taylor, a sparring partner of Paul.

The odds were in Fury’s favor, and despite loading up on all of his punches, he couldn’t land a knockout. Taylor survived and pushed the fight into the fourth round and succumbed after Fury turned up the heat.

The Love Island star won the match via a unanimous decision of 40-36 on all three judges’ scorecards. Fury is now 7-0 in his career, although his latest performance was lacking.

Tommy Fury Wants a Showdown with Jake Paul

After his win, Fury wasted no time calling out Paul and noted he wanted a showdown with Paul as soon as possible. Rumors have swirled for months that he was targeting a future showdown with the famous YouTuber.

Jake Paul should have an easy night then, so he’s got no excuses on not taking the fight. Let’s get it on Jake Paul. I have done my bit; you do your bit right tonight, and we’ll get it on.

Previously, Fury shared that Paul would be no match for him when they finally meet in the ring. The reality star revealed that he has been fighting since he was a kid and was not fighting for fame or money like the social media influencer.

He noted he was fighting to carry on the legacy of his father and brother, who are champions. And as the “real deal,” he did not want to be categorized with the “YouTube category.”

As for Paul, who seemed ready to take on Fury previously, he changed his tune the day before the potential fight between him and Fury was discussed.

Paul noted that Fury could not sell a fight like others he had called out. Therefore, Fury did not meet his conditions and was not deemed a worthy component.

Tommy Fury’s Relationship

Fury first rose to fame in 2019 after finishing as the runner-up with his girlfriend, Molly-Mae Hague, in Season 5 of the British reality television show Love Island.

As the audience watched on, Fury asked Hague to be his girlfriend officially a month after they met in the villa. With his matinee-idol looks, Hague couldn’t say no, and as they say, the rest is history.

After the show ended, fans thought they had broken up, but that was far from true. During an interview with Cosmopolitan UK, Fury shared that they were actually living together, and it was going great.

Fast forward to February this year, the duo was actually looking to buy their first home together. At one point, it even seemed like they had found their dream home, but Hague changed her mind at the last minute, so it looks like they are still searching for their dream house.
