Shailene Woodley Chooses Happiness in Break Up with Aaron Rodgers

Shailene Woodley and Aaron Rodgers have broken up again.

The Divergent actress and the NFL star have gone their separate ways for the second time. This time, it wasn't for Woodley's lack of trying.

However, she reportedly realized the relationship wasn't making her happy and that she was competing with his love for football.

The first time Woodley and Rodgers were rumored to have broken up was in February 2022. On February 16, 2022, InTouch Weekly first reported about them breaking off their engagement.

According to them, an insider source close to the couple confirmed the split and gave details as to why things ended. As per the source, Rodgers put football first, and he rarely spent time with Woodley, despite her being supportive of his career.

This was later confirmed by People and other sites, and it marked their first break up.

However, despite the apparent end of their year-long engagement, they still spent some time together. They attended parties and weddings together, and she supported him during the outings. In all these, Woodley's engagement ring was absent.

Then, on April 25, 2022, insider sources again confirmed to major outlets that the couple had, indeed, broken up for the second time. They claimed that Woodley spending time with Rodgers despite putting an end to their engagement was her trying to make amends.

"Shailene tried to give it another shot and was spending time with Aaron," the source told E! News. But, she got out of the relationship when she realized "everything was on his terms and nothing was going to change."

"It wasn't making her happy," a source told People the next day.

When the couple broke up in February, reports suggested they parted ways on good terms. There was no bad blood or drama between the two.

However, this time, no such claims have been made. Looks like she chose happiness over Rodgers.

It was never clear when Woodley and Rodgers first started dating. However, rumors about their relationship started after Terez Owens wrote about their spotting in Tahoe in 2020.

In September 2020, Rodgers talked about changes in his love life, and a few months later, on February 6, 2021, he announced he was engaged during his speech at the 10th annual CBS NFL Honors.

He did not mention Woodley's name, though, and she became the first one to actually confirm their engagement during her appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon a few weeks later.

Their eight-year age difference, too, became a hot topic of discussion for some, but that did not stop them from sharing adorable snaps of one another on their social media for a while.

With this break up, though, the cute pictures seem to have stopped, and so has the relationship.
