Pom Klementieff made her Hollywood debut with Oldboy, a remake of the eponymous South Korean film in 2013.

While the South Korean version was a hit, the Hollywood remake bombed at the box office and received mostly mixed reviews from critics and the audience.

It wasn’t until the actress joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Mantis in 2017’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 that she received worldwide recognition.

Director James Gunn described the actress as “the most awesome and easiest person [he] ever had to cast” during a Facebook video Q&A.

She became a mainstay in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, appearing in Avengers: Infinity War (2018), Avengers: Endgame (2019), and Thor: Love and Thunder (2022). And she will remain so with her upcoming movies in the famous film franchises.

Her upcoming projects include the following three movies.

1. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3

As one of the main guardians, Klementieff’s Mantis will appear in the third volume of Guardians of the Galaxy

And joining Klementieff is Chris Pratt as Peter Quill/Star-Lord, Dave Bautista as Drax, Karen Gillan as Nebula, Zoe Saldana as Gamora, Vin Diesel as the voice of Groot, and Bradley Cooper as the voice of Rocket.

Unfortunately, the wacky space mercenary trilogy will end with the third volume set to release on May 5, 2023.

Speaking of her role in the upcoming movie, she told Vogue Hong Kong that a lot of action will be involved.

“Mantis gets to do some action, finally! I’ve been harassing everyone about it for years because I’ve been fighting and training for a while, so I was more than eager to get to use it as Mantis!”

2. Mission: Impossible — Dead Reckoning Part One

Although fans might no longer see her in the Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy, they can still catch her in the Mission: Impossible franchise.

Mission: Impossible — Dead Reckoning Part One is scheduled to hit theaters on July 14, 2023. The movie was initially set to release earlier, but production got pushed back because of the pandemic.

It will feature Tom Cruise and many other returning actors such as Ving Rhames, Henry Czerny, Simon Pegg, and Rebecca Ferguson.

Klementieff’s role in the franchise has been kept under wraps, but no doubt she will be of great assistance or a great adversary to Cruise’s Ethan Hunt.

That being said, fans got a sneak peek at what she was capable of when the official Instagram page of the film franchise posted a black-and-white photo of the actress in action.

“Bonne chance…,” McQuarrie captioned the now-deleted post, and the actress replied with some black and white heart emojis.

3. Mission: Impossible 8

Klementieff will also be starring in Mission: Impossible 8 or Mission: Impossible — Dead Reckoning Part Two

The movie is currently in production and expected to hit theaters on June 28, 2024. However, the date could change depending on how the production goes.

According to Variety, it is expected to be the last Mission: Impossible film to feature Cruise’s character Ethan Hunt.

Director Christopher McQuarrie stated his goal for the next two sequels is to “swallow the last three movies whole,” and was committed to giving Cruise the most epic sendoff possible.
