Nick Swisher and Wife JoAnna Both Played It Cool While Dating

Nick Swisher impressed his wife, JoAnna Garcia Swisher, with his commitment while they were dating each other. 

He maintained honesty in the relationship and did not let JoAnna think of him as some stereotypical athlete.

According to JoAnna, Nick was dating her because he thought she was 'the one' for him. This convinced the actress that he was "in it to win it."

She said she was "pretty smitten" from the start, but was playing it cool much more than her husband.

Despite being a successful young guy, Nick's happy and grateful nature captivated JoAnna during their first meeting. 

However, in 2018, JoAnna admitted to US Magazine that, initially, she wasn't thinking of dating someone with a sports background, but upon meeting the baseball player through a mutual friend, she wanted more.

Nick's impressive personality made her attend a baseball match where he was playing against the Mets.

She found her husband to be "really impressive" and kind, exactly the type she thought he would turn out to be.

"He is what you think he is. He's a good egg," JoAnna remarked.

Nick Swisher and Wife's Marriage

The couple got engaged in May 2010, after dating each other for a long-time.

And shortly after, on December 11, they got married in a private ceremony at the Breakers Hotel & Resort in Palm Beach, Florida.

JoAnna wore an Ivory, strapless, drop-waist ball gown and veil designed by American fashion designer Monique Lhuillier for the wedding.

At the same time, the groom rocked a tailor-made tuxedo by Burberry London. 

Alongside their family and close friends, JoAnna's classmate Cameron Diaz and Nick's former teammates Alex Rodriguez and Johnny Damon were in attendance. Singer Reba McEntire was also present during the ceremony.

After the wedding ceremony, Nick reportedly said he was with a woman he could not be more proud of.

Getting to Know The Swisher Family

At present, the couple is proud parents to their daughters Emerson Jay and Sailor Stevie, born on May 21, 2013, and June 28, 2016, respectively.

After Emerson Jay was born, People contacted the Swisher family to learn the condition of the newly born.

"She is healthy, beautiful, and vibrant. It's the best feeling in the world," they told the publication via their representative.

And, after Sailor Stevie was born, the family made the news public via their respective Instagram account. They mentioned how the infant had stolen their hearts, making their family complete.

Later, while talking to People, the couple stated how watching their elder daughter meet her little sister for the first time gave them incredible feelings of joy.  

While JoAnna did not rule out the possibility of having more kids in the future, she shared a feeling of contentment with her two children.

Initially, the work-ridden actress would reject projects to spend time with her family, but after her husband Nick's retirement, the family of four would spend their time on the road between Atlanta and Los Angeles.

JoAnna claimed to have a supportive and respect-filled relationship with her husband, as they both wanted their family life to be good.
