Maddie Ziegler broke into the entertainment industry through her work in popstar Sia's music video of the song 'Chandelier.' Since then, she has had a notable career as a dancer.  

Apart from having a career in dancing, the multi-talented Ziegler is also actively involved in acting, modeling, fashion and has experience working as a writer.

A Look into the Life and Career of Maddie Ziegler

On September 30, 2002, Ziegler was born to her parents Melissa Ziegler-Gisoni and Kurt Ziegler, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She is of Polish, German and Italian heritage. 

Her parents divorced in 2011, which led to her mom marrying Greg Gisoni in 2013.

Prior to her appearance in Sia's 2014 music video, Ziegler started her career with Lifetime's dance reality show Dance Moms at the age of 8. She worked on the show from 2011 till 2016. 

Around the same time, she made her second appearance in another of Sia's music video for the song 'Ecstatic Heart' alongside actor Shia LaBeouf. 

The aspiring artist was named in Time magazine's list of 30 most influential teens consecutively for three years, starting from 2015 up until 2017. 

Given the huge success of the song 'Chandelier,' Ziegler toured with Sia, performing in North America and Australia in 2016 and 2017. 

Ziegler is equally crafty when it comes to writing. Her 2017 Memoir, The Maddie Diaries, was named New York Times Best Seller.

In her career, the entertainer has also worked in movies like 2016's animated flick Ballerina, 2017's hit The Book of Henry.

In 2021, Ziegler acted in high school drama The Fallout and American musical drama Music, where Ziegler portrayed the title role. 

Knowing Her Siblings

Ziegler has three blood siblings: Mackenzie Ziegler, Ryan Ziegler, Tyler Ziegler, and two half-siblings Michele Gisoni and Matthew Gisoni.

Per Bustle, her sister, Mackenzie, is also in the entertainment business. Like Ziegler, Mackenzie is also an alumna of the dance reality show Dance Moms. In fact, in 2015, Mackenzie was her sibling's competitor on the show. 

However, apart from her involvement in the show, Makenzie is also known as a music personality. While Ziegler decided to pursue a career in acting, her sister Mackenzie chose to make a career for herself in music. 

The 17-year-old is widely known as an aspiring singer, and her musical journey began in 2014 after the release of her debut EP Mack Z.

At present, she is also known as a social media personality, with a huge following of 14.8 million on her verified Instagram. 

Her brother, Ryan, is not involved in the entertainment industry like his sisters and isn't popular on social media sites. Instead, he is a scholar with a master's degree in accounting. He graduated in 2016.

Interestingly, Ziegler's brother, Tyler, is big on social media despite having no involvement in movies, music, or any art form. As of this writing, he is followed by 865,000 on his Instagram account. 

Likewise, her half-sibling, Michele, also has a notable fan following on Social media. Currently, she is being followed by 3.6 million fans on her Instagram account. But unfortunately, the whereabouts of Ziegler's other half-sibling, Matthew, remains unknown as of now.
