Josh Duhamel got engaged to girlfriend Audra Mari in style.

On January 8, 2021, the Transformers star announced the big news through an Instagram post, sharing a photo of the couple posing by the beach.

Duhamel and Mari smiled in the snap while he held up a handwritten letter that read, “Audra Diane Mari, Will You Marry Me?”

“It’s on!! She found a message in a bottle that washed ashore and said YES!! @audramari,” the actor, who has been dating Mari since 2019 following his divorce from ex-wife Fergie, captioned the post.

The proposal became even more special [and romantic] since the day also marked Mari’s 28th birthday.

Happy and excited, Mari, who was Miss World America 2016, later took to Instagram to share the same picture of them.

In her post, she expressed that her heart was happy while adding, “I love you @joshduhamel.”

Fergie Congratulates Josh Duhamel and His Girlfriend

As soon as the engagement was announced, many fans and friends congratulated the couple personally and through the comment section.

Among all the comments, one comment stood out — and even made it to the headlines.

It was a message from Duhamel’s ex-wife Fergie, with whom he is presently co-parenting their son Axl Jack Duhamel, that made the rounds.

“Congrats!!!” the ‘Big Girls Don’t Cry’ singer remarked with six green heart emojis.

Duhamel and Fergie, who began dating in 2004 and tied the knot five years later, announced they were no longer together and that they had decided to end their eight-year marriage in 2017.

The Set It Up actor Glen Powell similarly exclaimed, “So happy for you!!!! Let’s go looooooove!!!!!” while another fellow actor Matt Lanter added, “Congrats my man!”

“Awww yaaaaay!!! Congrats to you amazing people @joshduhamel & @audramari y’all are adorable I wish you both all the best,” a fan page of Duhamel also commented.

Lead up to Josh Duhamel and Girlfriend’s Engagement

According to TMZ, Duhamel and his now-fiancée Mari were staying at the Bungalows Key Largo Resort in Florida days ahead of the proposal day.

During their stay there, they reportedly had some good karaoke fun, with the Jupiter’s Legacy star jamming on ‘Tennessee Whiskey,’ ‘Show Me The Meaning of Being Lonely,’ and ‘My Neck, My Back.’

The pair marshaled on that mood to eventually get engaged to each other on a sunny Saturday morning.

Duhamel’s relationship with his girlfriend Mari came into the spotlight in 2019 after they were first spotted together back in May that year while out on a date in Malibu.

Five months later, they apparently confirmed their relationship when they were spotted locking lips and hugging one another at Toronto Pearson International Airport.

In the beauty pageant titleholder, the movie star seems to have found his ideal woman. He had previously stated he wanted to find “someone young enough to have kids.”

Duhamel is 21 years older than his future wife, Mari. But that does not look like a problem to the couple.
