Originally set to be released in June 2020, Transformers: War for Cybertron Trilogy: Siege was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.  Now, the series will arrive on Netflix on July 30.

Siege will be the first arc of the trilogy and it will be followed by Earthrise. The trilogy will end with Kingdom as its final arc.

You can check out the trailer for Siege below:

Synopsis

From the trailer, we can surmise that the series will follow the underdog struggle of Optimus Prime and the Autobots in the war that has been going on between them and the Decepticons.

As the final moments of the war approaches, both factions have their sights set on Allspark, the vessel of life for all Transformers alike.

The trailer also teases about the doubt that has been plaguing Optimus Prime. He is questioning the choices he made in the past that landed his people in such despair.

Megatron, the leader of the Decepticons, on the other hand, wants to put a decisive end to their long war.

Netflix provided the following as the synopsis for Transformers: War for Cybertron: Siege.

It is the final hours of the devastating civil war between the Autobots and Decepticons. The war that has torn apart their home planet of Cybertron is at a tipping point. Two leaders, Optimus Prime and Megatron, both want to save their world and unify their people, but only on their own terms. In an attempt to end the conflict, Megatron is forced to consider using the Allspark, the source of all life and power on Cybertron, to "reformat" the Autobots, thus "unifying" Cybertron. Outnumbered, outgunned, and under Siege, the battle-weary Autobots orchestrate a desperate series of counterstrikes on a mission that, if everything somehow goes right, will end with an unthinkable choice: kill their planet in order to save it.

What Will Earthrise And Kingdom Be About?

The Earthrise arc will focus on the events that transpire as the Transformers leave Cybertron in search of the Allspark. Their quest leads them to land over Earth—where the goal of their mission lies.
