Inside Jerry O’Connell’s 14 Years of Married Life with Wife Rebecca Romijn
Congratulations to Jerry O’Connell and his wife, Rebecca Romijn, who are celebrating their 14th wedding anniversary today.
The couple tied the knot on July 14, 2021, and since then, they have been an inseparable part of each other’s life.
They First Met When She Was Married to Another Man
It was at Maxim Hot 100’s pool party in Las Vegas in the fall of 2004, where the Stand by Me actor first met his longtime wife.
Interestingly, she was married at that time and had attended the event with her ex-husband John Stamos.
During a conversation with People and EW’s Editorial Director Jess Cagle in February 2017, O’Connell recalled his earliest memories of meeting his now-wife for the first time.
He shared Romijn was in the VIP section of the party while he gazed his eyes on her from the non-VIP area.
I met my wife and her ex John Stamos at a party when they were married. I remember thinking, ‘Wow. This girl is really beautiful and funny.’
The actor also exaggerated talking with her the whole party and “clicking” on the first day they met.
Got Married after Her Divorce
In August 2004, Romijn’s ex-husband and former Full House actor, Stamos filed for divorce from the actress at the Los Angeles County Superior Court.
The divorce papers revealed that the ex-couple was living separately since April that year.
The two, whose divorce was later finalized in 2005, had first met in 1994 at Victoria’s Secret fashion show. They had tied the knot in 1998.
After Romijn’s divorce, O’Connell and Romijn coincidentally reconnected at another Maxim party and subsequently started dating.
Later, the actor proposed to Romijn in September 2005, during a trip to New York.
Married in an Intimate Ceremony
O’Connell and Romijn’s 2007 marriage was an intimate wedding ceremony at their home in Los Angeles.
The wedding was attended by a hundred of their friends and family members.
Their wedding reception was cowboy-themed, with long wooden farm tables set with lanterns, bales of hay, vintage dish-towel napkins, and wagon wheels.
The guests had mini-country apples and red velvet cupcakes instead of the traditional cake.
They also dined on a blue crab salad, and lavender-grilled prime beef tenderloin at rustic tables adorned with ivory plates and old-fashioned champagne glasses.
On that auspicious day, the X-Men actress flaunted a Ralph Lauren gown and jewelry by Neil Lane, while O’Connell wore a grey tuxedo and pants with matching sneakers.
Happily Married with Twin Daughters
The couple has been relishing a happily married life ever since they exchanged wedding vows.
They were also blessed with twin daughters, Dolly Rebecca Rose and Charlie Tamara Tulip, on December 28, 2008 - just a year after their marriage.
Now, the Manhattan-born actor regularly posts pictures of his grown-up daughters on Instagram.
However, he is comparatively a little private about his romance with his wife on social media.
That being said, the couple were spotted sharing PDA in November 2020 at Los Angeles district Studio City.
Most recently, on May 27, 2021, O’Connell also posted a family picture featuring his wife, and two daughters snapped during their trip to Kenya last year.
