In 2019, Daniel Craig announced No Time to Die would be his fifth and final film as the international spy James Bond.

Since then, fans have not stopped speculating about who might be taking on the coveted role.

From Tom Hiddleston, Idris Elba to Richard Madden, and Jacob Elordi, anyone could be driving the sleek iconic Aston Martin.

While nothing has been confirmed, Deuxmoi recently took to Instagram stories and shared a blind item on who could be the next Bond.

Jacob Elordi to Be Cast as the Next James Bond

According to the follower’s tip, Elordi might be cast as the replacement, as the franchise is looking for a leading young man.

But they added that it was too early to tell if the Euphoria star would land the role.

According to IndieWire, the actor is the newest face on the replacement list, and at age 24, he could “take the franchise in a dramatically younger direction.”

Fans of the franchise took to Twitter and reacted to Elordi possibly becoming the new James Bond.

One user wrote, “Jacob Elordi...no thanks? If people complain about Tom Holland, a British actor, being too young to play James Bond, they don’t bat an eye when a ‘year younger than Tom Holland’ and Australian is playing him?”

“Jacob Elordi is someone who I never considered, but now thinking about it could be a great choice,” another tweeted

Whatever the netizens' thoughts might be, Bond franchise producer Barbara Broccoli confirmed to Variety it was going to take some time before a replacement could be named.

During the opening night of Macbeth on Broadway in April 2022, Broccoli told the outlet, “It’s a big decision. It’s not just casting a role. It’s about a whole rethink about where we’re going. I’m just here celebrating one of the greatest actors on the planet, Daniel Craig.”

Idris Elba as the Other Potential Candidate

But out of all the stars rumored to take up the 007 mantle, one has reigned supreme: Idris Elba.

Elba has been a fan favorite for many years, and it appears the producer herself would not mind him for the role.

Speaking on a Deadline podcast in January 2022, Broccoli gushed about The Suicide Squad actor, saying he was a “magnificent actor.”

She added that he would be “part of the conversation” when the time came to look for the new international spy.

And as the top favorite replacement for Craig, the actor has often been asked about his thoughts on taking up the role.

While promoting his movie, Luther, Elba, opened up to Capital XTRA about how his mother wanted him to become the next James Bond.

“My mum, my poor mum, she’s like, ‘One day you’re going to get it! Don’t mind them! Don’t mind them!’ I’m like, ‘Mum, it’s alright. I’m good. I’ve got Luther,’” said the actor.

In 2015, while chatting to The Telegraph UK, Elba expressed his frustrations at the ongoing rumors.

He joked that he was probably the most famous Bond actor even though he had not taken on the role yet.

Elba then told the reporter he had enough and couldn’t deal with the rumors anymore. Only time will tell if Elba, Elordi, or anyone else will become the next famous spy.
