Inside the Rising NASCAR Racer Hailie Deegan’s Life — Her Parents, Boyfriend Plus More
Born in Temecula, California, Hailie Deegan is a professional stock car racing driver who competes full-time in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series for David Gilliland Racing. She is currently a Ford Racing Development driver, driving the No. 1 Ford F-150, and a former Toyota Racing Development driver.
She kicked off her stock car racing career in 2016 after switching from off-road and on-dirt to asphalt. She subsequently commenced her career in NASCAR in 2018 in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West.
Hailie, age 20, also became the first female driver to have won races in the West Series, doing so in the 2018 and 2019 seasons.
Interestingly, she is the eldest daughter of Brian Deegan, a famous professional freestyle motocross rider and racing driver, and his wife, Marissa Deegan. And in case you are wondering where she acquired her skills, there you have your answer.
Hailie Deegan's Father Supported Her Career
Hailie was raised by her parents alongside her two younger siblings: Haiden and Hudson Deegan, both of whom compete in youth motocross.
During a conversation with NBC's Rebecca Lowe in May 2020, she talked about her career and how her mom and dad's support helped her live her dreams.
"I grew up in a racking world," Hailie admitted. "My dad did such a good job of not necessarily being hard on me but he always set a very high standard for me. So I always felt like I do live up to that standard."
She added she was able to have the work ethic she does now and always tried to push herself a bit more each day because of those reasons.
The pro racer, who currently splits time between her two residences in California and Mooresville, North Carolina, further stated that she does not work hard just to surpass her father's numbers or be compared with other people. But she does it to accomplish the new goals she sets for herself.
Hailie Deegan’s Father Survived a Near-Fatal Crash
Hailie's father, Brian, who is also referred to as the superstar of freestyle motocross racing, had a near-fatal crash in 2005 while attempting a backflip during filming for a television show. Due to the accident, he lost a kidney and four pints of blood, with doctors suggesting he would not survive.
But he survived, which he believes happened because he found religion, after the accident. While he was still fighting for his life, he started following Christianity, and upon his recovery, he dedicated his life to religion.
Hailie Deegan’s Boyfriend, Chase Cabre
Not only does her family hail from a motorsport background but her boyfriend, Chase Cabre, is also involved in the same fraternity. The two reportedly started dating in July 2017 after they first met in motorsport circles.
Cabre is a development driver for Rev Racing, who joined the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East in 2017.
In addition, he is also a skilled filmer and editor, and a quick scroll through his Instagram handle shows that he films races and things related to them.
His profile further shows his love and support for his girlfriend, Hailie, as he regularly appears during her race and appreciates her work. He also works behind the camera for her vlogs that she uploads on her YouTube channel.
Definitely, Hailie is blessed with a supportive family and a boyfriend who is always there to motivate and appreciate her.
