In January 2022, Simon Cowell teased David Walliams on the set of Britain's Got Talent by briefly touching upon the topic of his split from his former wife, Lara Stone.

Walliams initially poked fun at Cowell following an audition routine by a dance troupe.

In the act, the group of dancers impersonated Walliams "sitting on Cowell's knee," imitating a wedding proposal.

After the gig was over, Walliams told the auditionees how good it was for them to have brought up the engagement, referencing Cowell's recent engagement with his long-time girlfriend, Lauren Silverman.

"I mean, they only had a kid seven years ago. He took his time [to propose his girlfriend]," Walliams said humorously.

Cowell didn't hesitate to hit back at his co-judge in his typical talking style, quipping his marriage would hopefully last longer than Walliams.

David Walliams' Split With Ex Wife

The comedian met his former wife Stone in 2009. After dating for a few months, Walliams posed her with a marriage proposal in Los Angeles.

The following year in May, Walliams and Stone tied the knot at Central London's Claridge's Hotel.

In December 2012, the ex-couple announced they were expecting their first child. And on May 6, 2013, their son Alfred was born.

However, their marriage did not last long. Walliams filed for divorce in March 2015, subsequently separating in September of the said year.

The couple's marriage was legally dissolved in November 2016 after reaching a settlement following a court case spanning eighteen months.

Presently, the former husband and wife share joint custody of their son.

David Walliams' Relationship with Girlfriend

Walliams is in a relationship with English model Keeley Hazell. The couple was initially spotted together in public in May 2021, enjoying dinner at a restaurant.

Later in July, Walliam's girlfriend reportedly moved in with him in his London home and stayed for nine months. 

Their relationship was made official in August 2021 when they attended Ant McPartlin's wedding as a couple.

Before that, it was perceived that they were only long-time friends despite their multiple sightings in public.

As per reports, Walliams and his girlfriend Hazell were in touch since she tried her luck in acting in the United States.

Walliams is understood to be an admirer of Hazell since her early modeling days.

Born on September 18, 1986, in the London borough of Lewisham, Hazell grew up in Grove Park, where she attended the Ravensbourne School in Bromley. 

At seventeen, she participated in The Daily Star's "Search for a Beach Babe" contest, successfully winning it.

Hazell aspired to become a professional model and attended Lewisham College, studying fashion.

She initially worked as a Page 3 model with fashion magazines such as FHM, Loaded, Nuts, and Zoo Weekly.

Similarly, her acting credits include several appearances in television shows and movies like Tricky TV, Page Three: The Naked Truth, Like Crazy, Horrible Bosses 2, and Ted Lasso.
