RHOBH star Denise Richards recalled divorcing her ex-husband Charlie Sheen while pregnant during an episode of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. 

Here's Charlie Sheen and Richards's relationship timeline from the day they met to how their relationship is today after two children and divorce.

2000: Charlie Sheen Meets Denise Richards on a Film Set

Sheen met ex-wife Richards on the sets of Good Advice in 2000. They two quickly started becoming close with one another. The actress also went on to star in Charlie’s former sitcom, Spin City, in the fall of 2001 for a guest appearance.

Sheen went on one knee on December 26, 2001, to propose to his girlfriend and the couple married soon on June 15, 2002, at the estate of Spin City creator, Gary David Goldberg. 

The pair welcomed their first child together, a daughter on March 9, 2004, and named her Sam J. Sheen.

They had another daughter Lola Rose Sheen on June 1, 2005. 

2005: Denise Richards Files for Divorce

In March 2005, while Richards was six months pregnant with Lola, she filed for divorce, accusing Sheen of alcohol and drug abuse. She sought a restraining order against Sheen for giving death threats to her while she was still pregnant with her daughter.

Richards also went on to accuse Sheen of looking at gay pornography featuring "boys who looked underage" and also showing attraction to underage girls.

On April 16, 2006, Richards filed legal papers seeking a split from Sheen under the laws of the state of California. Sheen was ordered to surrender legal custody of Sam and Lola to Richards and stay 300 feet away from his ex wife and their daughters, except for occasional supervised visits. The divorce was finalized on November 30, 2006.

According to a source, Richards asked for sole legal custody for their two daughters as she explained Sheen had "marital turmoil, sobriety issues, and criminal problems". 

2012: Charlie Sheen and Denise Richards Back on Good Terms

The Two and a Half Men star and the Wild Things star were reported to be on good terms as they were seen spending time together with their two daughters.

Richard often appeared in Sheen's television series Anger Management, whereas Sheen was a guest star in her movie Madea's Witness Protection.

“There’s a lot that the kids don’t know about their dad and I want to keep it that way," she confessed during her stint in the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.

Despite the ongoing drama that Denise has experienced with her ex-husband, she revealed choosing to refrain from negative comments about the father of her two eldest daughters.

“Even though he’s Charlie Sheen, that is still to them, their dad,” she continued. “I never talk badly about him and I want him to still be a part of their lives.”

2021: Daughter Sami Sheen Opens up about Her Upbringing

Their daughter, Sami Sheen, recently opened up about moving out of her mother's house, calling her upbringing to be toxic and tumultuous.

In a now-deleted TikTok video by their daughter Sami Sheen,17, wrote “now: finally moved out of the hell house, had a spiritual awakening, own 2 cats, happy single, full of self love, and dropped out of high school.”

She claimed that she’s happier than ever after claiming she moved out of her mom’s “abusive household.”
