Cardi B has responded to former UFC fighter Jake Shields after he compared her to Andrew Tate and disparaged her in a now-deleted post.

The online feud began on August 18, 2022, when Shields attempted to defend Tate in a series of tweets and compared him to the rapper while doing so.

He noted he did not understand people being offended by young boys looking up to Tate but was fine with young girls looking up to Cardi B and the Kardashians.

"Tate's main message was stop being lazy and making excuses and go work hard and get in shape and make money. Cardi's is go do dr***, f*** random men and go through life as a brain dead Moron," he continued in another tweet.

He finished his Twitter rant, suggesting Tate should not be as much of a problem as people made him out to be.

Cardi B Responded to Jake Shields

Shields' tweets went viral and eventually caught the 'WAP' rapper's attention.

She did not take the MMA fighter's disparaging comments lightly and responded to them in a now-deleted tweet that The Neighborhood Talk captured and reshared on their Instagram.

"I'm married, I don't smoke weed, I don't pop pills, I don't do cocaine. I'm a mom of two kids and do a lot of charity work. But hey, let me put Cardi into it to defend a man who defends misogyny and rape," the rapper replied.

In 2017, Tate came under fire after he tweeted that women should bear the responsibility for sexual harassment.

The controversial star started tweeting about sexual harassment amidst the dozens of allegations made against Harvey Weinstein.

He acknowledged that sexual harassment was disgusting and inexcusable but clarified that a man looking at a woman or whistling and asking their name was not harassment.

Then his following tweets enraged the public. He said women have been exchanging sex for an opportunity for a long time, so some of Weinstein's victims were probably not abused.

He continued, "Next point, if you put yourself in a position to be raped, you must bear some responsibility. I'm not saying it's OK you got raped."

The Internet Reacts to Cardi B and Jake Shields' Exchange

Many agreed with the Grammy-winning artist and criticized the fighter for defending Tate.

"Within the Kardashians, there are two billionaires, 11+ different successful companies. The highest earning model in the world and a lawyer. In contrast, Andrew Tate relies on pyramid schemes and misogynistic statements to stay relevant. I know who I will continue to look up to," one user tweeted.

"I think the big difference is Andrew Tate is a predator. So far, I haven't seen or heard of Cardi B or the Kardashians acting in the same manner," another user wrote.

But a handful was on Shield's side, arguing that Cardi B and the Kardashians also often got the heat for how their actions could impact young girls idolizing them.Â
