Billy Bob Thornton’s 6th Wife Ended His Trial and Error with Marriages
Billy Bob Thornton had a very turbulent relationship with his spouses.
After five failed marriages and three children, he vowed never to marry again. He claimed that tying the knot or being married was not meant for him.
However, his current wife, Connie Angland, renewed his faith in love and marriage.

When the Goliath star swore off marriage in 2008, he was in a relationship with Angland. They had been together since 2002.
He said he did not want to put Angland through his troubles with marriage. Moreover, he reasoned that if she was his wife, "the press will start calling her number six."
They met each other on a movie set where Angland worked as a makeup effects crew member. After dating for two years, the pair welcomed a daughter named Bella.
Unlike the actor's other relationships, he did not rush into marrying Angland. In fact, he called Angland "his spouse" only after dating for over a decade.

It was reported that they tied the knot on October 22, 2014.
To date, the couple has been together for two decades and married for over seven years. They are seemingly going strong.
Billy Bob Thornton's Past Relationships and Children
As said before, Thornton was married five times before his current spouse. His first wife, Melissa Lee Gatlin, was not a public figure.
They were married for two years, from 1978 to 1980. Gatlin filed for divorce in 1980, citing "incompatibility and adultery on his part."
However, it is unknown with whom Thornton had an affair while being married to Gatlin. Their marriage was rough, but they were blessed with a daughter named Amanda.
In 2008, Amanda was sentenced to 20 years in prison for aggravated manslaughter.
She was responsible for the death of her best friend's one-year-old daughter, Olivia, who was staying overnight at her home.
She was released in 2020 after reaching a deal with prosecutors.

Thornton's second spouse was an actress named Toni Lawrence. They got married in 1986 and divorced two years later in 1988.
Two years later, he walked down the aisle with actress Cynda Williams.
The actor cast his third wife in his screenwriting debut, One False Hope, in 1992. But once again, the marriage did not work out, and the pair parted in 1992.
He then married former Playboy model Pietra Dawn Cherniak in 1993. The couple had two children, Harry and William.
Out of all his partners, he had the most trouble with his fourth spouse. The two divorced in 1997, but it was tough since Cherniak accused Thornton of domestic violence.
The model claimed Thornton physically attacked her, including hitting, punching, punishing, and biting. He allegedly abused the model in front of their children.
He also allegedly threatened to kill her and go to prison, leaving their children to be orphans.
Thornton denied all the accusations against him, claiming they were false.
In the late 90s', he was involved with Laura Dern. They dated and were engaged from 1997 to 1999, but their relationship did not work out.

Thornton married Angelina Jolie in 2000. Their relationship was highly criticized because the age difference between him and his spouse was 20 years.
Moreover, their display of affection was not appreciated. For example, the two allegedly wore vials of each other's blood around their neck.
Once again, the marriage did not work out between Thornton and his wife. As a result, they separated in June 2002 and divorced in 2003.
Even though Jolie is no longer Thornton's wife, she maintains a close relationship with his children.
On January 13, 2021, Harry revealed to ET Online that Jolie treated him like her own son.
He said the actress would always spend time with him and his brother when they were young. They still talked to each other and exchanged Christmas gifts.
