Juggling her work life and family life like a pro — Tanja Babich is an American journalist. She is best known for her current position as the weekday morning news anchor for ABC 7 Chicago's Eyewitness News.

Before her current position at ABC7, she served as an anchor for Central New York's No.1 morning newscast at WSYR-TV Syracuse. Besides being the newscast, she also served as the host for the station’s weekday talk show, Bridge Street.

A native of Toronto, Canada, Babich was born on June 29, 1980, to a family with a diverse background. Her father is Serbian, while her mother is Chilean. She also has a sister named Emily, with whom she is very close.

She graduated with a B.A. in Government from Cornell University. After graduation, she tried a career as an intelligence officer. But soon, she caught the attention of a city official who motivated her to mold a career in broadcasting instead.

With the motivation she needed, she applied and got accepted into a Master’s Degree program in the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University.

Utilizing her degree, Tanja Babich started her professional broadcast career as an anchor for the top-rated morning show at WYSR-TV for nearly three years. She also served as a morning news reporter and hosted WYSR-TV’s weekday morning talk show Bridge Street, highlighting community events, people, and trends.

Over the course of her career, she covered big news like Pope Francis's first visit to the U.S., President Obama's inauguration in 2009, and the breaking news on labor unions across NYC in the Bernie Madoff Ponzi scheme.

The excellence in her career soon led her to a new height after she joined ABC7 in January 2014 as a general assignment reporter and contributing anchor. Soon after, in 2016, Babich was promoted to the position of news anchor at ABC7 station, where she earned an average estimated salary of $87,153.

With that said, there is yet to be an official report documenting her current net worth.

Tanja Babich Had A Rooftop Wedding With Husband

The gorgeous reporter has been married to her husband Paul since July 7, 2018. The couple had a rooftop wedding ceremony in Chicago, Illinois. Tanja was dressed in a beautiful midi-length white wedding dress while her husband was dressed in a blue suit.

We have no precise details on how the couple first met, but one thing we do know is that they celebrated the night they got engaged at Rick’s Cafe Casablanca in Morrocco.

Tanja Babich welcomed her third baby, Josephine Emily, on May 22, 2019, just before 11 am. In an Instagram update, she disclosed that her baby girl was born weighing 7 pounds and 4 ounces. 

The youngest of Babich's daughters has since been making regular appearances on her mother's socials.Â
