Laura Hettiger, famously known as the host of News 4 Great Day, is engaged and excited to get married to her fiancé Mark Gdowski.

The American traffic anchor had initially planned her wedding on December 31, 2020. However, she had to postpone her New Year's Eve wedding due to "the rising number of COVID cases" and pandemic.

Hettiger took to her Instagram on August 3, 2020, to share that she and her partner had decided to postpone her wedding and revealed a new wedding date. She marked December 31, 2021, as her new wedding date.

"I have a bit of breaking personal news to share with all of you: Mark and I are postponing our wedding," she wrote. "With the rising number of COVID cases, no vaccine and our New Year's Eve wedding in the middle of flu season, we decided it would be the best option to just wait."

So that's what we are going to do...for the next year. Our new date is 12.31.21.

She further confirmed that she and her family members were healthy, which was more important for her at the time. She added, "While I'm disappointed to wait an entire year to marry Mark, I still have so many reasons to smile."

"I'm healthy. Mark is healthy. Our family members are healthy. Our wedding will not jeopardize any of our health."

Hettiger had previously confirmed her engagement with Gdowski through a Twitter post on January 2, 2020. In her tweet, she informed that she and Gdowski exchanged the engagement rings on December 27, 2019.

"Just a little bit of #BreakingNews!!!! My fiance, Mark, proposed last Friday in Central Park," she wrote.

The engaged couple has been publically together since early 2018. And one of Hettiger's Instagram posts from October 2018 suggests that they have started to date each other from that time.

Speaking of Hettiger's fiancé, Gdowski - also known as Mark Allen - serves as a Cardiology Fellow at Barnes-Jewish Hospital. He completed his graduation in Doctor of Medicine (MD) from the University of Kansas Medical Center in 2012.

Gdowski has a son named Henry from his previous relationship - and both Gdowski and Hettiger now look after the 9-year-old son.
