Two times recipient of the Emmy Awards for the excellence in her field of work -- Chris Jansing is an American Journalist and a staple member of MSNBC. She currently serves as the Senior National Correspondent for MSNBC.

She formerly served as the host of MSNBC’s Jansing & Co. and as a Senior White House Correspondent for NBC.

Before MSNBC, she served as a nightly news co-anchor for WNYT-TV Albany where she won several awards including two Emmy’s for her excellence in journalism.  

Chris Jansing Grew Up In Family With Eleven Siblings

The Ohio native Christine Ann Kapostasy was born on 30 January 1957 as the youngest child to parents Tilly and Joseph Kapostasy. She grew up in a big family along with her eleven siblings.

She graduated with honors from Otterbein College and holds two honorary doctorates.  

Chris Jansing’s Career Progression From WNYT To MSNBC

She started her professional career in journalism as an intern at a local cable station in Ohio. And later was hired by a radio station WIPS.

Then she went on to serve as a general assignment reporter for WNYT based in New York. She served as a weekend anchor followed by a weekly co-anchor at WNYT for 17 years. While at WNYT she covered the Olympic Park bombing in Atalanta.

Her career reached a big height after she joined the NBC News in June 1998. At NBC she served as a substitute anchor for MSNBC’s The Today Show, as an anchor for the Sunday broadcast of NBC Nightly News.

In 2008 she moved to Los Angeles from NYC and worked there as a field reporter until 2010. After returning back, she co-anchored for MSNBC’s weekday morning news show Jansing and Company. Then she was assigned as NBC’s Senior White House Correspondent.

And finally, in June of 2017, she acquired her current position as a senior national correspondent for MSNBC.
