Portuguese actress Sara Martins made it to her dream of acting on-screen and had quite the chemistry with co-actor Ben Miller, that brewed the tittle-tattles of her possible relationship with the on-screen partner in crime-solving.

Sara Martins is best known for her appearance in the British-French crime comedy, Death in Paradise as Detective Sergeant Camille Bordey alongside on-screen partner, Ben Miller.

Sara Martins’ Bio: Age & Early Life

Born on 19 August 1977, Sara Martins is of Cape Verdean descent. At the age of 3, she moved to France and studied ballet becoming the first person of African descent to join the Lyon Opera.

Sara learned that she was having a hard time advancing to the Paris Opera because the corps was expected to look alike and there weren’t any other black dancers. So instead, she was given her Baccalaureat with a theatre option.

The 41-year-old actress received a DEUG (French national degree) in law and studied at the École des Enfants Terribles in Paris.

Sara went on to grasp an acting degree at the immensely selective French National Academy of Dramatic Arts.

It was in April 2011 that BBC One announced Sara would appear in the crime comedy-drama, Death in Paradise. The series was Sara’s comedy and British television debut. She gained a massive amount of fans for her role as Camille Bordey, a detective sergeant.

Sara played her role in the series for the last time on the fourth episode of the fourth season as she confessed about loving the show but willing to take risks by leaving a place that’s comfortable.

He’s very funny of course, but he’s also such a great partner because he’s not just an actor-he’s a producer and he’s a director. He’s my hero! For me it was great, because I’ve never dealt with comedy before, so on that, I just had to lean on him and follow him, and that was easy.
